Nice hotel, 15 to 20 minute walk from Rapallo town

Posted 31-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff friendly, carpeted in rooms and corridors so not bothered by noise. Try and get a room overlooking the sea for stunning views over the bay,
Location: Ferry to local towns from seafront in Rapallo, trains easy to use to/from Genoa and cheap!
Lovely quiet hotel 15/20 minute walk from Rapalllo town centre. All restaurants along the sea front in Rapallo, well lit pathway alongside the beach from the hotel.

Excellent Hotel, we definitely stay here again.

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: The views form the hotel balcony, the food and the location.
Cons: Please see my comments above.
Three issues for us.. 1/ Room 512 sits under the lift motors and every time the lift moves you here the motors. 2/ Music at the pool may be appropriate for a hotel in the Caribbean does not create the right environment for a hotel on the Italian Riviera! 3/ The hotel hosted a wedding party on the Saturday night of our stay and it was impossible to park anywhere within the hotel grounds. Since the hotel charges guests to park within the grounds and I suspect guests of the wedding party do not pay, space should be allocated to hotel guests as a priority, this was quite irritating. Overall a supern hotel, great location, very good food and good service.

In the midst of the Italian Riviera

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: Staff were always helpful and accommodating.
Cons: Internet service. Most hotels now offer this service for free.
Location: We like to walk so this was ideal for us, i.e., 15minute walk to the local restaurants, train station to Cinque Terre.
Hotel as published is difficult to find, i.e., no such address as Aurelia Oriental. spent an hour locating the hotel after a five-hour drive. Bathroom was relatively small for a man my size.

Grand hotel Bristol

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Pool, breakfast and bar staff
Cons: General maintenance and receptionists, menu in restaurant not changed in over a week.
Reception staff somewhat disinterested. Shower cubicle smallest I've ever seen. Maintenance of rooms neglected.

Old world charm

Posted 16-Jul-2014
Pros: The views and location. Walking into Rapallo (15 mins but you'll need that to walk off the wonderful food!) but far enough out for peace
Cons: Would agree with others that the service was a little slow on occasion, eg waiting for coffee and for food to be replenished on the buffet.
Location: Ferry trip to Santa Margherita and Portofino definitely worthwhile
We stayed for a week in this hotel early July 2014. The building had old world standing and the views from our balcony were breathtaking. Breakfast taken on the terrace afforded the same views. For a hotel of this standard I would say it's looking a little tired although you forgive that because of its charm.

Posted 26-Jun-2014
Pros: Very good standard views from terrace. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Small balcony would have liked small table and chair
Location: Steep walk to town we enjoyed the views on the walk but have to be quite mobile.
Very enjoyable stay. Very relaxing staff very friendly everything you could want for breakfast. Had meal in restaurant very good with stunning views. Not bad walk into town with lots of very good seafood restaurants.

Very good hotel in a stunning location.

Posted 22-Jun-2014
Pros: The food is excellent.
Cons: Free Wifi in the rooms should standard in a 4 star hotel.
Location: Rapallo is a nice town with plenty of shops and restaurants and is well served by ferries to Portofino etc.
The views from the hotel are superb and can be enjoyed from nearly all of the public areas as well as from the rooms. Great pool. Helpful and very pleasant staff. The walk into the town is very easy and would only present a problem for the seriously lazy.

Pros: Prefect for our anniversary.
Cons: The Spa.
Location: Good location for walking to Rapallo. Not good, if you want to be in the centre of activities
Good spa, but the steam bath could do with some herbal fragrance: te air is quite stale. .

Lovely time at the Grand Bistro Hotel and Spa

Posted 06-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
My daughter and I had a getaway for 3 nights here, and we had a very relaxing time, which we both needed! The hotel was very comfortable, and the service was excellent. We visted the rooftop restaurant on our first night there, and the meal was delicious. Our room was very comfortable, and we were upgraded to a room with a sea view upon our check-in. We ran out of time to take advantage of the spa, but if we return, that will be on our list.

Posted 01-Jun-2014
Pros: Very helpful staff 24/7
