“Hotel for business travellers”

Friendly helpful staff. Clean spacious rooms, but nothing in the immediate area of much interest for a tourist.

Area recommendations

Close to the river and Aliados far more interesting for the leisure traveller.

“Exceptional hotel.”

There is nothing I would not recommend about this hotel. It is a completely new build and modern in an unthreatening way.Exceptional service and comfort - you can watch tv from the bath - and we got a complementary bottle of wine and a cake for our anniversary. There is a bar and an indoor pool. We booked on a luxury room deal so it was evern very good value. If you are staying for more than a few days or there are more than two of you, you may want to explore the breakfast bars outside the hotel and you will find cheaper taxis on the highstreet than immediately in front of the hotel but even then you can get everywhere in the city for E10. All in all the best holiday we have booked with Expedia.

Area recommendations

there is something for everyone. The river front and the port lodges, the lovely parks and churches can be mixed with river cruises and days on the beach. There is good shopping in the city centre and several markets.

Getting around

If there's more than one of you, just take the pain out of it and use the taxis. Public transport is good and reliable but from Boavista you will need to use taxis.

Must see

the modern art museum and park are fabulous if that is you sort of thing. Don't miss the river front and a visit to a port lodge. The hop on and hop off buses allow you to see the whole city in a day or two but the red buses can be a rarity so use the yellow ones.

Family-friendly activities

Porto is very family orientated and you do not have to rusch around to see the sites as there a few of those and you can simply concentrate on relaxing. A decent guide book will give you all the advice you need.

“Sheraton Porto 1 day stay mostly ok”

Impressive Hotel building, with good access and huge underground car park. ALL staff spoke good English and were very helpful. Spa is exatr 10 Euros which is slightly disapointing, but worth it, don't forget your swin gear as they don't sell any..... Room was very tiday, clean and usual high standard with all usual services. Bathroom rather strangely has a glass panel between bedroom which you can raise the blinds and see into the bedroom or from Bedroom into bathroom. Not sure why? All in all happy with stay

“Luxury”

A little "out of town" but the rooms are magnificent, particularly the bathroom. The breakfast provides everything that you could possibly want. Spoil yourself!
