“Great Hotel,”

Had a great stay in Solverde, the staff were extremly friendly, lots of facities, amazing spa and great massages.

Area recommendations

Porto City is 25min in the train from Granja which is 15min walk from the Hotel. Espinho is about 2km way, easy to do with the bicycles from the hotel, great local market on mondays with amazing bread, cheese and meats. Also nice fish restaurants. try the Bacalhau.

“Neil”

Surprised this hotel was 5 star and thought the condition was more like 3. The reception staff were not very helpful and the restaurant staff seemed very busy as we had to queue for breakfast. However, the pool and sauna area were very good condition and the spa staff were very friendly.

“Not bad, but Not 5 Star!”

This hotel is listed as a 5 star hotel, and back in the day it might have been. Now it is somewhat dated and run down. The staff was friendly, the breakfast had a good selection of cereal, meats, cheese, rolls/pasteries and fruit! Along with eggs and bacon/sausages. The pool area is very nice but VERY windy and bit cool even on the warmest days, but there is an nice indoor pool too. There is a great boardwalk running a long the beach for miles. The Spa was very nice, robes and towels throughout the hotel left something tobe desired, not the fluffy luxury ones most 5 star hotels have... but the massage was great! If you have a car it is easy to get to and from the city as well.

Area recommendations

Rent a car and drive in to wine cou ntry... must see/do and stop by the Fonseca Winery nice tour and free tasting at the end!

“Very relaxed and tranquil”

Since the moment we arrived all our needs were attended to politely and efficiently. Plenty of parking facilities outside hotel and also in hotel garage if you prefer. Lots of facilities for young and not so young. Mini golf, tennis, even a grass football pitch, and playground for kids. Also, easy walk to the beach. Pool is heated . Restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast good. Would definitely recommend for families.

“Great Hotel and staff”

The hotel was lovely, especially the bar area. Very inviting to sit and relax, have a drink and listen to the wonderful piano lounge music. The hotel has a Spa with a great range of treatments - bit too pricey for my liking. The buffet breakfast was fabulous and there is a good selection. Will definitely go back again.

“Very good value for money”

We stayed for 5 days in August in Solverde and we highly recommend the experience. The hotel offers great value for money. It may not be fully to the standards of a top 5 star hotel, but is a very good hotel. Facilities are great, with a great swimming pool/lawn area, an outstanding spa (real 5 star experience) and reasonable rooms. Rooms would need some refurbishment but are comfortable.

“Hope to return”

Very welcoming and well maintained hotel and spa and wellness centre. Great attention to detail and friendly and welcoming staff. Great food and overall really good value for money. Location also fantastic, quiet, next to Atlantic and walking distance of main town of Espinho. Thought the 15 km of boardwalk a fantanstic feature of this part of the coastline.

“Third visit to this excellent hotel”

Went back again for a third visit, all the amenities are there. The staff could not be more helpful. The breakfast is fabulous, but we tried restaurants in Esphino and Granja. The O Passido in Granja which is next to the tyre depot. Only about a 10 minute stroll, served excellent food at a really reasonable cost. He even asks you what you would like him to cook!! We will most certaily go back to this little gem.
