“Interesting Hotel!!”
Although we only had breakfast in the hotel it is was very surprising that it never changed throuout our stay but included absolutely terrible coffee. The room was supposed to be suitable for business travellers the table was totally unsuitable as there was not enough space. The bathroom had a brilliant design but it didn't really work due to silly things including a toilet right behind door so anybody sitting on the toilet would be hit by the Glass Panelled door when it is opened. This is very dangerous as well as being incredibly stupid. Shower had incredible water pressure which was an effort to control particularly with a damaged shower head. We informed them on our arrival about the shower head but it took 2 days before it was repaired. Bathroom supplies where very stange as they did not give Shower Caps, Shampoo but new Soap Squares everyday even though we never used them.
“a very comfortable hotel”
Very good hotel, well deserved 4 * rating. The staff were friendly and very helpful when our airport transfer by EV tours failed to arrive. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel didn't run a restaurant, but had a good bar and bar menu. There are plenty of good eating cafes & restaurants around or at the harbor
“An oasis in Porto”
We were not right in the heart of things, but it took only one exploration trip to find our way to the Ribiero ten minutes away. The hotel staff were first class. They directed us to a laundromat and answered all the questions we had.The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the stay
“A superb renovation of old building”
In a neighborhood that is rapidly getting upscale, this hotel spent a great deal of money to restore an old building with very good results. Everything is like new, and service is very good.
“Excellent Location”
Excellent location according to downtown. Good breakfast and service.
“Great place to stay in a great city”
Oporto is a great place to visit and Eurostars das Artes is a great place to stay. Very friendly' helpful and knowledgeable reception staff. Modern, comfortable, clean rooms. Free internet access in lobby. Pleasant outside deck to enjoy a drink or just sit out in the sun or shade. Good buffet breakfast or 2 cafes nearby as alternatives. Convenient and quiet location, with easy access to sights, etc. Good local restaurants: Artemisia (1 block away) - great food, atmosphere and friendly, knowledgeable staff - a bit more pricey, but worth the money. O Assador Tipico at the bottom of Rosario in Rua D. Manuel II, is a typical basic Portugese restaurant - good food (beware huge helpings!) and friendly service. Nakite a great little inexpensive vegetarian restaurant around the corner in Rua de Breyner, 396. Tasty food and friendly staff. At all restaurants the staff spoke good English and had menus in English as well. Getting to/from the airport is easy. 601 bus from airport stops outside the St Antonio Hospital at the bottom of Rosario. The 602 passes the hotel on way to airport and will also take you to C.Michaelis Metro (nearest stop to hotel). Buy your tickets beforehand if travelling on metro. Tickets last for an hour and can be used on metro, bus and trams. Once the ticket is bought you can add money to it at the local tobacconist near the hotel.
“Great Hotel.”
Whilst a little way out, this was an excellent value hotel with a superb breakfast. Close to a "Hop on Hop off" bus stop, which is well recommended. Taxis inexpensive to get into the main centre, people very friendly.
“Fulfilled its high reputation.”
This hotel provided a really good experience. All staff were first class but its reception excelled in the warmth of its service and the local information provided was invaluable. Thank you.
“A great hotel...”
A very nice hotel... great service, lovely rooms... and very good value. Its location is in a quiet street, and is within easy walking distance of the centre of town, and within walking easy walking distance of the metro system for the airport.
“Nice hotel, great breakfast, away from downtown”
This is an upscale hotel, modern minimalist. Rooms were fine, bed comfortable, all new but minimal furniture and amenities. If someone was using the toilet a second person could not open the door w/o slamming the door into them---and everything was in the bathroom---no separate sink. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, gave a great dinner recommendation, had umbrellas ready for the rain and had a terrific complete buffet breakfast. It is not near the center of town---depending upon where you were going it is 10-25 minutes away. Walk to the port houses is about a half hour---not terrible in good weather. All in all a good choice if you don't mind not being near the center of things
