Average all around.
We booked this hotel based upon location, kitchenette and price. We were in Porto Alegre only the two nights we stayed at this hotel so it is difficult to comment on because we have nothing to compare to. That said, it is close to the few cultural attractions listed in guide books and the web. It is on the main pedestrian street in the old city and near the wet market. Little if any English spoken by staff. Breakfast the usual fare for a brasilian hotel in this category. Room was large. Kitchenette consisted of a small sink, mini fridge full of mini bar fare for sale, a small counter again full of minibar fare for sale and a mini microwave on a shelf close to six feet from the ground. Girlfriend could not reach it. Nothing to microwave in - we purchased at supermarket. Internet was painfully slow. Snail mail may have been quicker! Overall, quite averàge. One sometime English speaking tv station and CNN international. Mini safe in room was the size of a cookie box, wasn't connected to anything and had no lock!

I wouldn't recommend to friends or return
I honesty do not understand on what basis it is currently rated so high. I am quite easy to please and rarely write negative reviews. But not this time. I am basing this on the following: 1) The breakfast buffet has nothing hot apart from a simmering bowl of sausage in tomato sauce and a tiny bowl of omelette that is always empty. The fruit is nice though. 2) The rooms look nothing like in the photos. Clever photography and high contrast retouching help to that end. I have to admit the the cleaning staff does a very good job though. 3) The staff speaks NO English. Only caught one during one of the shifts that spoke some. That means everything is hard work. From simple directions to booking a taxi for the airport. Finally, 4) The neighbourhood is dirty, loud and dangerous. I could hardly sleep and the hotel is locked behind a fence with a security guy behind the door after 10pm. Next time I will choose a hotel closer to the geographic centre of the city or, ideally, Moinhos De Vento which is a very lively, beautiful neighbourhood.

O lugar é horrível
O atendimento é ótimo, os funcionários são atenciosos. Porém, o lugar é horrível, durante o dia muito barulho e a noite impossível de dormir, muitooo barulho na rua. O chuveiro não esquentava, era elétrico. Nunca mais!!!

Las habitaciones son espaciosas. Tienen mesa, tv y una kitchenete con microondas y frigobar. Las camas son cómodas y el baño está limpio y es amplio. El desayuno es buffet y tiene lo básico y poco más. El problema es el ruido de la calle. Termina a las 20 y retorna con los boliches a las 3 hasta las 5. Y luego a las 8 con los vendedores gritando que compran oro. Estábamos en un piso 7 e igual se sentía. A las noche la zona se pone complicada. Por otro lado, la atención del personal fue excelente. Siempre nos dieron ayuda en lo que pudieron y siempre fueron amables. Si me preguntan si volvería, por supuesto que si. Lo malo no opaca lo bueno.

Desorganização na reserva
Chegamos no hotel e não havia o quarto conforme nossa reserva. Tiveram que improvisar uma cama extra e esperamos muito tempo para resolver o problema

Tem bons apartamentos.
Hotel foi renovado, mas a estrutura é antiga, o café da manhã não é como aparece na foto, é dos piores do sul, os apts. são grandes e confortáveis com mini cozinha, os elevadores as vezes param são antigos e mal conservados, o pessoal da recepção é excelente e bem prestativo, mas não fazem milagres.

Ótimo atendimento da recepção.
O hotel fica no centro histórico de Porto Alegre. A localização é boa por ser próximo aos principais pontos turísticos, no entanto é horrível à noite, com muito barulho e arruaças na rua, durante toda a noite. Há muitos "inferninhos" nos arredores e os frequentadores saem fazendo muito barulho, confusões e brigas. O local é bastante perigoso também, principalmente após às 21 horas. Já o atendimento no hotel é bom. Fomos muito bem atendidos pelo atendente da tarde que mostrou-se sempre muito solícito e amável.
