“Affordable Quality”
The Shilo Inn on Canyon Road in Beaverton may be somewhat dated, but for quality, cleanliness, comfort and convenience it can't be beat! I will stay here next time in town!
“excellent service, excellent value”
Would recommend this to anyone. Big rooms, friendly staff, excellent complimentary breakfast - convenient location to downtown or beaverton/hwy.
“below average”
The front desk, particularly Jeff was rude and not helpful. We stayed 3 nights and each encounter was sub par.
“Not impressed”
The hotel was satisfactory overall. However, my one major dissatisfaction was with the evening desk clerk, "Jeff", who was practically rude. We arrived later in the evening of Nov. 25, and perhaps he'd had a bad day, but his attitude was curt, somewhat arrogant, and most unhelpful. Not a good recommendation for a postion in the hotel business. The rest of the staff were very helpful, courteous, and friendly. I would return to a Shilo Inn, and will not let the one person mar my choosing to stay again.
“a charming get away”
had a trip to oshu.. a very quiet..easy to get to hotel..staff was very pleasant.. wanted to please.. the breakfast was GREAT.. the mattress was a little stiff..room was cozy and adaquet.. nice place to stay.. would stay there again
“Nice Stay”
It's an older place, but it was comfortable at an affordable price. The breakfast was great. If we are back in the area, we will stay at this place again.
“Nice place”
I have stayed here 2 weekends a year for 3 yrs now. Its a good hotel with a good price. You can find some cheaper but they won't be as nice.
“Not too shabby”
The only complaint I have is that you can hear every footfall of the persons upstairs. You get free breakfast, and not just muffins and coffee - eggs, hash browns, toast, coffee and juice! And it is delicious. Though it is definitely not a 5-star hotel, I was satisfied with our stay. I will admit, however, that the hotel's prices are a little high, but we got a discount through Expedia.
“Best Value”
Honestly can't believe the bargain this hotel is. We enjoyed it all, the dinner coupons, and breakfast in the dining room or balcony which is where we enjoyed breakfast...viewing their beautiful fountains
“nothing in walking distance”
The main lobby has a bar and cigar lounge so when I went to check in the smell was HORRIBLE, but the room was oder free. There are no elevators and also the hotel is located on a pretty steep hill so just getting from our building to the lobby for breakfast was a hike. The breakfast wasn't bad although the first day I used the coupon to take $3 off a menu item instead of one of the free choices and the hashbrown tasted like they could be several days old, very hard. But the main dish eggs benidict was delicious. Your free choices consist of buiscuts and gravy which comes with a bowl of fresh fruit I had that twice- good and very filling. You could also get a Ham and cheese scramble or pancakes. If you are on a budget do not get coffee or juice it is nearly three dollars a cup! There is nothing in walking distance, however the zoo and childrens musuem are just a short drive. No public transportation in area. The closest Starbucks to the hotel is also the closest one to the Zoo so it made a great meeting spot, also there was extra free parking next door. If you have never been to Portland and will be driving, make sure you have GPS!!!
