“Best service ... ever!”

I was so pleased with the service at the hotel. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was friendly, helpful, and just plain nice. The hotel is bright and cheerful, and the halls and lobby are well kept. The room was neat and clean, with plenty of lighting options. As the hotel is located near a busy freeway, the room provides a soundspa to help ensure a good nights sleep. That same location makes it a breeze to get back and forth to downtown Portland and the airport. Free parking is an additional incentive. Just across from the hotel is the river, and a walking path that takes you east along the banks. It's a lovely walk and a nice way to wind down after a long day. Breakfast was great. A good selection of foods and fresh fruit. I enjoyed the 24 hour coffee and tea cart. The pool is small, intended for playing rather than swimming, but the hot tub is wonderful. I was traveling with 3 teens, all of whom were happy and comfortable while staying here (no small feat). I will certainly return.

My stay at the Fairfield Inn was very nice! Everyone there was very friendly. Breakfast was good. It was convenient to the freeway. I felt very safe there. It was in an area with a couple other hotels - I believe owned by the same company. Everything was clean - I would definitely go back! The price was excellent as well!

“Good quality basic lodging at excellent price”

Obviously, this is not a place you would choose if you wanted quaint or romantic. However, it's very good basic lodging. Rooms are clean and comfortable, no problems with noise. Nice selection for breakfast. Convenient access to computer and printer. Our only complaint was signage to help get there. The streets are not well-marked. The hotel is most visible from a street that is actually an on-ramp, and the correct smaller street is not well-marked. Print out a good map before you go, particularly if you will be arriving at night.

“Hotel is alright, staff not so great”

I intentionally chose this hotel because it was close to the Portland Exposition Center during the April automotive swap meet. The hotel rooms were fine but the service was lacking. TV would not play movies in either room we paid for and there were no folding beds available. Staff had no explanation and made no attempt to make things right. The staff at this hotel may have been recently hired with no idea or care what the words "customer service" mean. The rooms are small but comfortable with a modern feeling. If you don't require any customer service this is not a bad place to stay.
