Was greeted by very cheerful staff who immediately took our bags to the room.
Was greeted with a clean and authentic room.
Breakfast offered a wide range of foods which were delicious and the view of the beach and pool were beautiful.
Wifi Always strong and staff very friendly.
Best place to stay in Algarve
We had to ask for larger bath robes. Only junior ones in room . Had to ask for a hair dryer and had to ask for the room to be cleaned. Complement toiletries very sparse.
There were dirty marks on the upholstered furniture. All these things were put right except the cleaning of furniture.
It's a beautiful setting with lovely pool. The indoor pool was not available due to maintenance work.
Some of the staff were very down beat. Others were very smiley.
We've used this hotel each year for the past 10 years as we feel it's in a great location to access the Algarve region. Rooms vary depending on which block you're in but are adequate. They have buggies to help with luggage to the rooms and you can arrange a pickup if you don't want to walk to the restaurant block. Breakfast if buffet style with plenty of choice located in the restaurant which overlooks the river. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Scuba diving is available (via Ocean Revival, check website) on wrecks. It's lovely to walk along Praia da Rocha beach and come back via the main strip of the town, although you do have to climb stairs up the cliff face so not suitable for all.
The hotel is located close to the centre of Alvor. However difficult to find if you are visiting for the first time. The hotel website should have added directions on how to find it.
We stayed in the studio apartment which was very well equipped. One thing missing was the hooks in the bathroom as nowhere to hang your clothes.
Free Internet only in public areas and even there we had poor reception.
Staff were amazing. Claudia at the reception was very helpful and always smiling..
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights, the hotel is very nice. There are lots of things to do like playing golf, swimming, sun bathing, tennis, football, table tennis etc. There are three restaurants but all are not open every day, good quality and enormous quantity of food is served. Staff very helpful.
We came at night and it was hard to find and a bit overgrown. The layout is a bit confusing but once there, we found the rooms to be nice, bed comfortable (but roll away not so good), good breakfast, and the staff was very nice. Yes, we would definitely return.
Stayed here for two weeks, first time in praia da rocha and hotel da rocha was perfect. Literally 2 minute walk to the beach, hotel is clean, very modern and staff are always helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Praia da rocha.
Two bed self catering apartment was very comfortable and clean with good facilities. Friendly staff and family friendly hotel. A few km from nearest big chain supermarket but taxi back was inexpensive (6 euros i think). Free bus to beach and can get to waterpark but need to book day before travel. Onside supermarket is very useful and stocks most essentials. A little more expensive than local supermarket but probably only by about 5-10% depending on item (more expensive being UK branded items). Fun games room with pinball, table tennis, pool, and a few arcade games. Swimming pool large and clean with very nice toddler pool. Kids play area a little run down but usable. Plenty of sun loungers but if hotel is full might be tricky to get a cushion for some. All in all a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.
A port town, Portimao is known for its fish restaurants and shopping. The former cluster around the dock though its once-famous old-style eateries have been replaced by modern outlets. Boat trips also depart from the quayside. Portimao is the regional shopping centre, noted for leather, shoes and clothes, and its weekly market attracts large crowds. Close by, Praia da Rocha is a busy resort which boasts one of the Algarve’s most spectacular beaches.
