“Opulent, but a little noisy”

The Wyvern is easy to find and get to -- right off Hwy 41. There is plenty of parking, It is easy to get back onto Hwy 41 north and only a little harder to reach Hwy 41 south. The main drag with its boutiques, pubs, and restaurants is a short walk away. So is the harbor walk -- a 4-mile multi-use trail that skirts the harbor (you have to leave the trail to walk around the decaying Hampton Inn nearby, though). The common areas of the hotel are nicely decorated with lots of fine art and marble. The roof-top bar and pool area are comfortable and give excellent views of the harbor and downtown Punta Gorda. The Standard King room we had was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was huge with granite and marble everywhere. The bed was comfortable. The only problem we had on the Saturday night we visited was noise. We could hear the band on the roof from our room, and they played until nearly 1:00am. It wasn't enough to keep us awake, but it was annoying nonetheless. We would stay here again, but probably not on a night when they have live music.

“It was great, I'd recommend it over and over, very convenient to airport”

Everything about it was beautiful, very nice restaurant attached. Roof top Bar was outstanding and also the service. Conveniently located near Punta Gorda Airport. View from the top sun setting was perfect. The employees were very helpful with directions etc.

“Lovely, comfortable boutique hotel”

Our recent stay at the Wyvern Hotel in Punta Gorda was very nice. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious.It was very quiet.The rooftop deck had awesome views of the water and a great bar and live music.The only downside was the lack of parking when we returned from an evening out. We had to park in a vacant lot across from the hotel and were concerned about the securityof our vehice overnight.We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was mediocre at best although the coffee was fabulous. The staff we encountered were all very pleasant and accomodating.

“Punta Gorda's Best Hotel”

The rooftop bar was fun, we enjoyed a quiet dinner at Lulu and can't think of anything we didn't like about this hotel.

“The Best in Punta Gorda”

This hotel is everything I want in a great lodging experience: great bed and pillows, fabulous bathroom, helpful staff and great price. We will definitely be back!

“Wow Bathroom”

This is a beautiful hotel with only 2 drawbacks--no coffee machine in the room and the rock band next door. The rock band evenutally ends for the night--the no coffee machine continued.

“Not the Punta Gorda I remember”

What a nice surprise when I checked in to this hotel. I grabbed a parking spot right by the parking lot entrance. Quickly checked in & proceeded to my room. The bathroom was large. The room had a sofa, comfortable bed and flat screen TV. The fitness room was small, but I was the only one there. Its frige is stocked with bottled water from Tuscany. The restaurant was having a summer special - 2 entrees for the price of one. The steak with the chimichurri was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to be in downtown Punta Gorda.

This hotel is in the downtown area and within walking distance of the courthouse and hospital.
Dining
Dinner at the hotel's restaurant, 'Lulu's' would be worth the trip to Punta Gorda, even if you were not staying at the hotel. I was glad to remain in the hotel for dinner during a thunderstorm.; The continental breakfast offered at the hotel (prior to the restaurant opening at 8:00am) was all pre-packaged individual items and highly disappointing. I checked out looking for a Starbucks. Unfurtunately a meeting at 8:00am did not allow me to enjoy breakfast from the menu. Other restaurants are just a short walk across the parking lot.

“One of the best hotels”

the Wayvern hotel was one of the best hotels that i have stayed at. i have stayed at numerous hotels and the Wayvern is in the top five. the room scored for cleanliness scored a 5 in my book.
