“Never Again”

A friend and I were vacationing in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and booked this hotel as a late night stop on our way back to the airport in Salt Lake City. Since Ramada is a well known chain and rate was good, we felt reasonably confident booking there, especially as our requirements (a clean, comfortable room) were minimal. First off, the hotel isn’t actually in Pocatello, it’s much closer to Chubbuck, ID. The lobby was very shabby and did not appear clean, and the employee manning the desk was not very knowledgeable about the hotel facilities. The hallways in the room area were also dirty, and the room itself was disappointing. The paint on the back of the bathroom door was peeling, there was mildew on the ceiling tiles of the shower, and the shower head/pipe were no longer attached to the wall. There appear to be lots of hotel choices in Pocatello proper, so do yourself a favour and stay at one of them. You’ll be happy you did.

“Ramada is not a nice place to stay in Idaho as it is in Arizona.”

It was pretty terrible in the room area but the lobby and front areas were deceivingly okay. You could not use the washer at the same time as the dryer or it would trip a circuit breaker. It took me about a day to get the odor that was present in the room when I arrived out. The front and patio doors were open when I arrived in the room and door looked like it had been kicked in before and hastily repaired. Cleaning service was bad, hotel jacuzzi was a really dark algae (not chlorine) green. It looked like one of those hotels some people rent by the hour.

The last review hasnt made it online yet so lets see if i can try again.. this was the worst place ive ever stayed. Filthy disgusting horrible crap. coffee still in pot, dirty crusty washrags hanging in bathtub. hair in floor of bathroom, blood running down wall by the lamp, dog hair caked on the chair that looked like it came off the street after a month of rain, carpets were not vacuumed, the stains and smell as you walk in the place is of cigarettes and vomit.. its just nasty!!!!!!!

“Place to Avoid”

This hotel is run down and in need of major upgrading. Definitely not what I would expect from the Ramada name.

“Poor Customer Service”

At check-in, desk attendant was polite but not very helpful regarding information on availability of room service from in-house restaurant. Printer at business desk in lobby was out of order. Phone not answered at in-house restaurant; called multiple times. Phone call to front desk to request connection to in-house restaurant was a waste of time; desk attendant said to keep calling, someone would answer. Menu choices were poor - burgers and greasy fried foods. Towels were stained; rough texture.

“Marlene's the cats meow”

Marlene at the front desk is excellent in customer service. In fact everyone goes out of there way to make you feel at home. With the new lighting and curtains I saw them installing, shows they are on the right track getting this hotel back in shape. I will be back.

“Decent”

At first I was a little speculative because one of the office people were a little short and rude when I made a call and didn't really answer my questions. However, when I talked to another staff memeber they seemed professional. When I actually stayed at the hotel the room seemed clean and organized. If I could make a suggestion I think the staff should take a few customer service classes to make sure all staffers are on the same page when it comes to customer service. However, the rest of the hotel stay was fine.
