Fabienne and all the staff at Bayt Alice are very friendly and welcoming. I arrived early from my overnight train from Marrakesh and was treated to breakfast while watching the sun rise! The room looks really new and was very clean. The guesthouse is in the medina and very close to the American Legation museum and also the Petite Socco- a really great square for having mint tea and people watching! The only minor "problem" with the guesthouse is that it is in a largely residential part of the Medina and can feel a bit unsafe to walk through at night, especially on our first night when we made a few wrong turns getting back. However, it also gives a good insight into how locals live their daily lives.

Hotel in the centre of Tangier at 5 minutes from the beach. Rembrandt Hotel is the perfect establishment for holidays or …More
Ac did not work, the rooms (we rented two) had a slightly odd smell that they seemed to try and mask with air freshened, the bathrooms were lovely but again had an odd smell. A bit small, but nice location easy to walk to from the ferry and the staff were very very nice. The rooftop, breakfast and service were all great.
Dal El Kasbah has the best of everything. First of all, this is definitely not another stale chain hotel. Instead, it's a charming little ryad situated on the edge of the bustling medina and also, just a short two minute walk from the historic Kasbah. Despite it's proximity to the heart and soul of Tanger, it maintains a feel of being it's own little oasis.
From check in to the very second you leave, the incredibly friendly staff is right on top of every need you may have. The welcoming and friendly culture in Morocco speaks loudly, but the staff here is honestly a step above.
The rooms were spotless and tidy, the garden are comfortable and cozy and the food and associated service simply wonderful. You must have the breakfast! And speaking of the garden, despite the hustle and bustle of the world just outside it's walls, it's the perfect place to relax, read a book and sip a glass of mint tea.
If you want to feel like you are truly in Morocco and staying with family instead of being "just another guest", this is truly a great spot.
Taxi met me at the airport as arranged by hotel, which was convenient. The hotel charge for the taxi is 13.50 Euros (one way), but dealing directly with a taxi driver at the airport will get you to the medina for about 5 Euros or even less. Pick up a map of Tangier w/medina at the airport information counter and you'll be able to find the hotel in the maze after the taxi drops you off. The hotel entrance is marked merely by a wooden door in the wall and a small sign. Knock hard on the door, as there is rarely an attendant standing by. Once inside, be prepared for a wonderful hotel experience; three floors and only seven rooms. My room had a detached bathroom, but it was not shared. No aircon, but the fan was enough to stay cool. Breakfast on the terrace was OK, tasty and filling, but nothing to jump up and down about. Breakfast supposedly begins at 8:30 am, but don't expect to find anyone around at that hour. I met the French owner, a very nice and warm man. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to experience life in the very heart of a North African medina, and if you don't look and act like a tourist, you won't be hassled on the street. The hotel will arrange transport to the airport for the same 13.50 Euros, but walk out of the medina and you'll find a much cheaper taxi on your own.
"Beautiful boutique Hotel on the edge of the Medina"
We stayed overnight after coming over from Spain on the ferry. Michelle arranged for a driver to pick us up at the port and we used the same driver, Amed, for an afternoon tour on our second day, after which he dropped us off for our return ferry. Michelle was so helpful in every way, and nothing was too much trouble.
