We have stayed in many paradores over the last twenty years, some good, some bad and some indifferent, but the Parador de Plasencia has been by far the best. The high quality of the parador, the comfort, size and quality of the room, and especially the staff who were outstanding, so welcoming and helpful.
The Parador itself is a fantastic building with great architectural and historical features and a tour of the place is essential. There are so many interesting things to see in the Parador, which was built as a monastery in the 15th century.
The uniqueness of the car park just adds fun to the stay. The car park is accessed via a lift, which is certainly different for us, but fun. Don't worry you have more room than you think in the lift. We were driving a Hyundai Santa Fe and we had plenty of clearance.
The location is great, being a five minute walk from Plaza Major, the centre of Plasencia, which is a very pleasant town with good restaurants. The Parador, being set back from town, is very quiet, which is welcome in the morning. This was the first time we stayed here but we shall definitely return.
