Plaka Hotel is a very well located tourist hotel. It is situated near the bustling Plaka area as well as a shopping district and historical zones. I would not hesitate in recommending it based on the location and importantly the quality of service, which was very hospitable. The hotel is small, but provides everything you need for a short stay, such as a good breakfast, wifi and computer access and complimentary tea/coffee in the lounge/restaurant. The view to the Acropolis on the rooftop is fantastic!
The hotel was located in Plaka and very close to the metro and Acropolis. The rooms were clean, staff very helpful and the free breakfast was really good. We were able to easily walk to the metro, hop on hop off tour and major city sites. Tons of great restuarants very close and you can use the rooftop bar at the sister hotel. The rooftop had great 360 views of the city.
My stay at Athens Status Suits was wonderful! The staff was extremely accommodating and the restaurant served wonderful food for both breakfast and dinner. The front desk clerk was more than happy to help with questions we had about touring the city. The wait staff at the restaurant was SUPERB!!! Not only were they incredibly friendly but at one point we had ordered the fried squid and when bringing it over the waiter accidentally knocked off a couple pieces of the squid, and to our surprise, later showed up with a fresh new plate of the squid!! We were also given a free appetizer and free desert!! We decided to come back the next night and they were even friendlier!! I only wish I had gotten their names so that I could let them know personally how wonderful they made our trip! And the food was soooo delicious! I recommend the stuffed chicken :)
We had the top room with an amazing terrasse with a great view of the Acropolis. The room was really spacious and well decorated with a little kitchen and living area with tons of light. The bed was really comfortable and the place couldn't have been cleaner. There was coffee on hand which was a nice touch. The owner John was really welcoming and helpfull. The location is fantastic. Walking distance to everything. I highly recommend this place. We tried and book a 2nd night to no availability. The only disapointment about this place.
Quaint and touristy, Athens’ oldest residential quarter sits in the shadow of the Acropolis. Plaka’s narrow cobbled streets are lined with bougainvillea-clad neoclassical mansions, souvenir shops and pseudo-traditional tavernas, some with live music. A village atmosphere prevails, despite the crowds. Close to all the top sights, it makes the best base for a short stay.
