Hi Kathleen,We're sorry you did not have the experience here you were hoping for. Our house is 164 years old (third oldest still standing in town.) and we're constantly repairing and upgrading. We wish we knew specifically what you noticed needed upgrading and we would move it to the top of our list. Since Covid we started delivering breakfast directly to the rooms and got such great responses that we decided to keep it but we understand if you prefer a more traditional sit around the table and eat with other guests type of offering. We're all different and we have found that this works for most of our guests and at the price they want to pay. Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Richard, At 5:22 pm on the day of your arrival, you inquired about the breakfast timing. At 5:45 we responded with the following message "Hi! We usually don't include breakfast in our self catering cottages, but we have been considering adding it so we are happy to do it, you will be the first! What we have been considering is to either deliver breakfast at approximately 9 am (give or take 15 min) or give you the same breakfast, frozen with heating instructions the night before. Which would you prefer?" If you check your messages on this site you will find that is verbatim. We received no reply from you. So at 9 am I (the owner) arrived at your door with a tray of hot food on china plates, including a greek frittata, bacon, Fresh fruit, orange juice and a scone. We found you had already departed. Had you responded to our message, we would have provided you with the same which could be warmed at an earlier time to accommodate your departure, as our kitchen staff arrives at 8:15 am. We are sorry you arrived late and departed early and were not able to fully enjoy the cottage. Most of our guests do not find it dingy but instead remark it is exceptionally clean.

Hi Dana. Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed your room and breakfast. Yes, as you probably noticed, we are in the current process of making several upgrades and repairs. We are currently tracing our very old water lines for complete replacement. This has proved to be more of a puzzle than anticipated but we can assure a complete replacement by the end of the Winter. We very much value your feedback.
