“Great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms”
I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Priory. The staff was very friendly and will to store my bags as I left for an interview. The bed was comfortable and the interior architecture is beautiful.

Great hotel, location not so good
“WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!! PICK ANOTHER HOTEL !!!”
Beautiful Hotel, but the Manager Ann ( Evening Shift ) was Rude and Condensending. I would Not Recommend this hotel if you have any Dietary Restrictions or are Handicapped. We have known since 2005 my daughter has Celiac Disease ( No Gluten or wheat ) and have NEVER had an issue related to her disease until our stay at this hotel. Bascially, Ann told me it was not a hospital and it was not their responsiblity to have any foods other then what they had for the other guest, and that I needed to learn to read labels. Well, I am a Registered Nurse and Celiac Consultant. The hotel is in a High Crime Drug Infested Area. I would not stay at this hotel again, Spend the extra few dollars and go to an nicer area of town... where customer service is a priority. Obvious Service Excellence is NOT a priority with Employees with this hotel. I have taught my daughter to control her disease, not let her disease control her... and as for the Manager Ann, it is obvious her guests are not a priority. When I called down to see if they had movies to rent, the manager told me I should have brought a Laptop or dvd. I have NEVER in all my years been treated with dis-respect. Employees are Unprofessional and treat Guest Terrible !!! Better off Staying home then staying here!!! Please take my honest Review Seriously and Dont stay at this Hotel. My daughter did not need scolded for having a Disease. !!!! FORGOT TO MENTION NO HOT WATEROR PRESSURE TO TAKE A SHOWER. !!!! FIND ANOTHER HOTEL !!!!
“Hidden Urban Jewel '<>'”
The neighborhood appears pretty rough on first glance but keep going - towards the end of the street. Other reviews were spot on: it looks a bit dodgy but what a gem once you arrive!. The Priory showcases a lot of character in its preservation and details. I found this bed and breakfast to be one of the best : classic, modern comforts in an historical context... Be sure to rise early to take in the hearty breakfast served in the first level dining room. Worth it!! Front desk is friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Be sure to ask them if you need direction... FYI: there is gated parking down the road (hotel key card required) which is well lit and monitored by the front desk security camera. I will definitely stay longer than 1 night at the Priory if I am traveling near Pittsburgh again!
“Off the beaten path gem”
Really nice hotel that is far from generic. Friendly staff, comfortable room and funky little bar. Surrounding neighborhood is "eclectic" but an easy walk to the Andy Warhol Museum (which was fantastic). If you are tired of polyester and plastic, try the Priory.
“Wonderful hotel, beautifully furnished and with character.”
We chose The Priory Hotel as it had good reviews although was not central to the city. The area is somewhat run down but felt safe. However the shuttle service was superb. The hotel is full of old world charm and extremely comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pastries are to die for! Plenty to eat at breakfast too. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and regret we only had one night there.
“Great Hotel”
We loved the Priory Hotel. It was quaint, clean, comfortable, and close to downtown Pittsburgh. It was wonderful to stay in a unique hotel-so much more fun than a chain.
“Nice and close to the Warhol Museum”
We enjoyed being able to stay in a little piece of history and found the room clean, comfortable and spacious (King) - except for the shower which was small for a tall person. The location was perfect for the Warhol museum and there were a couple of good coffee shops nearby.
“Great choice for pittsburgh”
Very nice. Location felt rough at first but we got downtown to see a show and to the Consol Centre in 5 minutes flat. Breakfast was better than other continental breakfasts. We were snowed in without our bags for a night and they provided us with toothbrushes/paste, deodorant, brushes etc. They have two parking lots if the first one is full. Much better than a chain hotel for much less. Great for two people sharing a bed. Bed was excellent. Tv was a flat panel. some rooms had decent view of the skyline. I'll go back next time i go to a pens game.
“Quaint & Affordable”
I loved the character of this hotel. Lots of antique furnishings coupled with modern amenities. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the breakfast. The quality of the accommodations was higher than the quality of the cold, unimaginative breakfast.
