“Would love to go back”
Hotel was clean, rooms were nice. The pool was nice, could use better lights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Station square is beautiful and the hotel is located right there. There is a shuttle that goes 3 miles, it would be helpful if it would travel up to 10 miles, since all the shopping is aprroximately 6-10 miles from the hotel unless you shop at the designer stores at station square. Also be prepared to pay for parking when staying at the hotel. That part is not good, it costs $18 USD per night to park, and if you want in and out priviledges it is $20 USD per night to park. Aside from the parking issue it was a great hotel to stay at.
“Once again, very happy”
Breakfast at the resturant in the lobby wasn't that great and was way over priced, but it is a nice hotel in a great location. Have stayed there before and will again.
“could be better”
Its very costly for what it has to offer, but very convenient for a steelers game.
“Great Location”
This hotel is right in the middle of Station Square, walking distance to a ton of restaurants and night clubs. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was overall very nice and well taken care of. Our T.V. wasn't working properly and a service man was sent up within 5 minutes to fix it (or in our case show us how to use it ha!) There was an enormous bug in our room when we first entered though. And for how expensive it was I would have expected the breakfast buffet to be included in the stay but it wasn't. (It was around $15) The shower in our room needed updated and our T.V didn't get HD channels. (Which normally I wouldn't care about, but come on, I spent more on one night in Pittsburgh at this hotel than three nights at a comparable hotel in NYC) We were in Pittsburgh for a Bachelorette Party and you really couldn't beat the location. Not having to worry about a DD or driving through Pittsburgh traffic and considering how many places there were to go in Station Square, I definitely would recommend this hotel.
“Nice Hotel”
We spent 3 days there in Oct & Nov of 2011 and found it a very nice hotel. It could use some remodeling but what is there is well presented. The location is great, and be sure to enjoy the old train station restaurant for Sunday brunch, simply wonderful. If we have another opportunity to stay in the area I think we will stay here again.
“It was OK”
Just an OK hotel, with OK location. I would have been much happier with a Marriott.
“Littel disappointed in this stay compaired to other stays”
We have stayed here several times before. Called for more towels, took hours and another call. Not aware we would be facing the garage and they were unable to change our room. I had just attended a conference at hotel right before and the conference experience was great. Overall stay was good because of the location, views, food (excellent). Will go back.
“Beware of the Upgrades/Trains”
We were very satisfied overall with the hotel, the friendliness of the staff and the location (very convenient for us). We were supposedly "upgraded" to a River View Room when we checked in. At first we were very happy and the view was great- However, there are freight/cargo trains passing ALL NIGHT LONG. We're both heavy sleepers and it was very disturbing so I can't imagine a light sleeper or families with children dealing with it. The riverview rooms that are on higher levels may make a difference.
“Expedia and Sheraton Station Square avert disaster and save the day!”
I have stayed at the Sheraton Station Square previously and have found it to be a quality hotel in a superb location (excellent views of Downtown Pittsburgh.) During a recent road trip with a family member and a friend, I tried to reserve a room at this hotel directly at the last minute and found it to be completely booked. However, I was able to successfully reserve a room there through Expedia. Unfortunately, when we arrived we found that the hotel was unable to meet our original request for 2 double beds and only had a room with 1 queen bed available (which was also next to an elevator with noisy patrons through the night.) However, the hotel quickly saved the day (and saved face) - not only did they provide us with a trundle but also gave us a gift certificate for 3 for breakfast at their restaurant Pittsburgh Rare. Since the hotel's parking lot was also full, they instructed me to park at the garage across the street. This would have normally incurred an additional charge, but I requested the hotel cover this as well and they did. Great job! I will stay here again (and try to book earlier next time.)
“Will be back next year”
Absolutely no problems at all. Room very clean and staff very helpful. This is to be an annual trip and here is where we will be staying from now on.
