“Comfortable stay”

I was in Pittsburgh for a business conference, which took place at the OMNI, downtown. The staff at Holiday Inn Express (South Side, Pittsburgh) was extremely friendly and the free shuttle service was incredibly convenient. Great stay!

“Not Impressed”

This hotel is not in a very good part of town...very dirty surroundings. Our rooms were ok but a bit dusty...our biggest problem with the rooms was that we were on the 5th floor (non-smoking) and for some reason the 3rd floor is a Smoking Floor and our rooms smelled HORRIBLY like stale cigarette smoke! Our clothes and everything smelled of it! On the plus side, the Breakfast was pretty good. Overall, we would not stay here again because of our experience but if you had to stay overnight it was just ok.

Area recommendations

I would recommend the area around Station Square...the hotels are a little more pricey but you are close to a lot of things and it looked relatively clean.

Family-friendly activities

We took our 5 year old daughter along on this trip as well as my parents. We did the Incline (very neat !) and the Ducky Tour. The Ducky Tour was around $21.00 per adult ( I think $15 for kids) and we had a blast! It was an hour or so long and very informative! My daughter loved it and we got to see a lot of the city (as well as go into the River :) We also went to PNC Park and watched the Pirates and Orioles play (we are big Orioles fans!!)

“Very nice friendly people.”

This was a very nice and clean hotel, very close to downtown. I like the parking as you can come and go, not have to bother valet.

“Best place we've stayed in the Burgh”

We travel to Pittsburgh frequently to visit family and go to games and this was by far the best place we've stayed yet. We've probably stayed at 4 different hotels in either the downtown or very local to downtown areas but I loved this place. It was close to everything, clean and the staff was over the top friendly and accomodating. It's very close to Carson street and there is no lack of fun stuff to do there. Plenty of great restaurants, bars, and shopping. We even decided that while it would be a bit of a walk, we could still probably make it to the stadiums on foot. Loved, loved, loved this hotel and it's location. Don't hesitate to book here.

Area recommendations

This was our first time visiting Carson street. What a hoot. We're in our mid 40'S and thought it was a blast, will definitely be going back. We went out for a drink Sunday night around 9 pm and didn't think any place would be open, they were just getting started!!

Had a great dinner at Claddaugh, I'm sure the spelling is wrong. It's in the Southside Works.

“place to stay in pitt”

We went for a bachelorette party. I thought I got the sit with two queen beds non smoking. However we had the suit with a King bed and it was smoking. The hotel was full or they would have switched it for us. It turned out just fine. Very clean. Nice staff. Very very close yo the bars and it had a shuttle service! Parking was the only issue we had.

Area recommendations

We went to station square. It was a shuttle ride away And had everything. Shopping food and bars.

Nightlife

Call ahead to the bars if you're with a group to get free admission.
