“Pleasant surprise in Pittsburgh”

Great stay at one of the best Hampton Inn's I have seen. Spacious room, very clean and new, large bathroom with great shower. Continental breakfast had lots of choices. Very friendly staff. Convenient access to free internet and computer room. Close to areas downtown, ease of access by walking. I would definitely stay there again!

Downtown has variety of restaurants, cultural sites, riverfront, museums, ease of getting around.

“Great location for events at the Convention Center”

Between the location, the breakfast, the hot apple cider every evening and size of the rooms, I was thoroughly impressed with this Hampton Inn. I stayed here as a less expensive option compared to other hotels near the David L. Lawerence Convention Center. It's was a ten minute walk that took me right along the river. This made for a great walk in the morning. The staff was great too. Kind and curtious.

“Great stay for Penguin Fans”

Intown on business, stayed here & attended Penguins at Consol Energy Center....Hotel is perfectly located, 10 minute walk to game & easy access out of city to airport. Hotel staff, especially front desk, extremely cordial and helpful (although their directions to the Center were not the most direct to the Center). Rooms are large, comfortable, and the overall hotel was a typical Hampton Inn--great quality, up to date, clean, and pleasant. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to stay in the city for a Consol Energy Center event...

Directions to Consol Energy Center from hotel...off Grant Street, take LEFT at the Damon's Sports Bar and follow pathway under bridge to the Center (this takes literally 4 blocks off the trip from the directions given by the Hotel).

“Very pleasant stay”

This hotel was great place to stay being that it's in the downtown core and close to the shops and restaurants. The employees were exceptionally polite and quick to help with anything that you might need. When approaching the reservation desk there was a very polite lady named Tamesha. She was real cool and made you feel welcolmed with her laughter and cheerfulness. If you get a chance to enjoy the breakfast buffet, make sure you give a shout to a man called Rome. He was great too. These two people really stuck out in my head and gave the hotel a feeling of being home even though you weren't. The room that we stayed in was very spacious and quiet. We would stay again in a heatbeat.

“very convenient”

The breakfast was good and the parking was free. The grandkids loved the chocolate chip cookies.

Area recommendations

The area near Heinz Stadium, PNC Park and Carnegie Science Museum because there is so much to do there that the grandkids loved.

Family-friendly activities

The Carnegie Science Museum was an interactive museum with four floors of activities and the huge theater was awesome.

“Excellent location”

We booked two rooms, a standard king and a Junior King Studio Suite for our family. Both rooms were very roomy, clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The staff was very attentive, helpful and super friendly. The hotel is located in the Strip District of Downtown Pittsburgh right off the river walk making it a great location for a stroll on the river. The hotel has its own parking lot and the 16th Street Bridge is next to it so traveling in and out of the area is a breeze. Walking to the area attractions was easy and safe. Be certain to walk down the block to Lidia's for dinner.

“WOWed in Pittsburgh”

Wonderful accomodations! Staff that greeted us was friendly and warm. Liz,Steve and Tamesha were so helpful. We reserved 1 night and had such fun, we requested a 2nd night, but the hotel was full. The next morning they found a room for us. Only two things that were not totally great: 1.) the pool was being refurbished and was not available; it would have been nice to know that prior to arrival; 2.) The price of our 2nd night was more than our first night and the room was half the size. We were so thrilled to stay a second night, we paid and did not complain. Great location. Within walking distance of Heinz Field and PNC park, along the walking/bike path, tip end of the Strip district with great restaurants! 10 minute drive to Station Square or maybe a good city walk away. I like to walk.

Area recommendations

This was a great neighborhood. Depends on what you want to do. We had teenagers. They wanted to shop and do Heinz Museum, Children's Museum, Walk in the water by PNC Park, see the National Aviary, do Station Square, and do a Duck Tour. We did it all!

“Excellent choice for Pittsburgh sightseeing”

Everything about the hotel from the free parking to free hot breakfast to spacious, comfortable rooms was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.
