“Great overall hotel in Pittsburgh.... take exit 67 offramp from 376 hwy”
Very good hotel, recommend requesting a room on North side of hotel (facing woods/Mannsfield Ave), because other side of hotel gets freeway noise (trucks using engine brakes going downhill... yikes). Very good breakfast every day of 6 day trip (surprisingly good omelettes, eggs, sausage, bacon, made-fresh belgian waffles, juice, coffee, toast, fruit, etc.) No parking charge, no internet charge. Pool was closed during 11/16 visit (for season). I asked for refrig and microwave in room - they accommodated. Nearby (Mannsfield & Noblehouse Rd) "Hop House" has good bar food & beers, but a little smoky inside.... drive-thru beer place nextdoor to Hop House also (weird alcohol distribution rules in PA, I guess). Carnegie Science Center, Warhol Museum, and Rivers Casino at North Shore area are all fun. Room has comfy bed, good bathroom, small work desk, King bed, sofabed couch, and interesting wardrobe. Flat panel HD TV. Only downside: a few selfish smokers lighting up in the stairwell (too lazy to go outside). Hotel should police the stairwells to keep the place smoke free. Otherwise, a stellar experience.
“Good value for money - would go back!”
The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that the room we were given was extremely small compared to other Hampton Inns I have stayed at. We felt really limited in space and a bit "on top of each other". Otherwise the service was great and the hot breakfast as usual with Hampton Inns was fantastic...that's why we always stay there!
“What's a Queen”
Reserved a room with Queen Bed for two adults, and ended up with a Full. When I queried the desk about the small bed, I was told that it was a 'single queen'. Whats up with that? You rename a full bed to single queen and mislead your customers? Ughh. Overall the room was small, and the bathroom less than clean. I have stayed here previously, and thought it was fine. After this experience, however, I will probably try the Radison up the street next time.
“Nice Affordable Hotel”
Nice place to stay if you're there for a few days. Liked the shuttle service that the hotel provides - it was very helpful. Rooms were clean. Far from the city center and there is not much around, but it makes up for that.
“Wonderful place to stay”
My husband & I stayed overnight recently and were well satisfied with most everything. The room was great, beautiful, and bed very comfy. The breakfast was very good. The only thing I was a little displeased with was the pillows were so tall, I felt like I was sleeping sitting up. It wasn't the greatest comfort for my neck. Other than that, it was quite nice.
“It was good, not great.”
We had stayed at the Hampton Inn - University the night before and we had a fridge in the room. The Greentree location did NOT have a fridge. That was disappointing.
“Nice hotel for the money!”
I have stayed here before and it seems that it was updated since then. It's very reliable, clean & comfortable with friendly staff. Plus, Greentree is so convenient to downtown Pittsburgh.
“Nice Pittsburgh Hotel with Great Service”
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and were pleased with the service at the Hampton Inn at Greentree. The front desk staff were willing to help with our questions about nearby restaurants, directions, and their complimentary shuttle service. We were grateful for this benefit, as we learned quicker ways to get around Pittsburgh and highly appreciated our driver's willingness to take us on a short notice. The hotel will provide shuttle service within five miles. The room was spacious and nice, but the bed was too firm. We both woke up the first morning noticing some back discomfort. The complimentary breakfast was well supplied with a variety of choices. We would go back again.
“Hampton Inn Green Tree”
The staff was professional and assisted with requests. The only problem is getting to the Inn. Only a small sign (Hampton Inn) on the left. Trying to locate in the dark, the first time, is difficult. Reommend a sign be placed on the right side of the road and/or a larger Hampton Inn sign be installed. Splar powered linghting would be great. The turn off is difficult to see
“Will stay again”
Second visit; dog friendly main reason for stay; clean, friendly, good breakfast
