“A hidden gem”
Everyone in the hotel made you feel welcome - almost all spoke English. All were helpful, pleasant and we decided that if we are back in this area this is the hotel in which we would like to stay. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of sweet and savoury items. We did not eat other meals in the hotel simply because we prefer a wider choice of seafood dishes - but others who did eat in the hotel enjoyed the meals on offer. The hotel was central for either train station, the bus station and the funicular.
“Not What I Anticipated”
This hotel was listed as the top rated hotel in Montecatini Terme and with that rating and all the favorable reviews I decided to stay there.(we had 2 rooms) While the hotel was well situated for traveling around Tuscany and the staff was very nice, I would never rate this hotel that high. The hotel room was very clean and well air-conditioned but the room was tiny and I believe that the twin beds in the room were not the size of a American twin bed. They would never have been comfortable for a larger size person. I didn't mind staying there since I did save alot of money and it didn't matter since we did not spend much time in the room but I feel I was a bit mislead about the type of place it was. We are used to staying in luxury hotel.s
“A real gem”
I would highly recommend this family run hotel for the warmth and friendliness of the staff. I stayed here in June 2010 as was attending a conference in Montecatini Terme. The staff could have not been more attentive and make all guests feel very much at home in the hotel. Marco, the general manager, is a very helpful and friendly person and helped with all sorts of requests during the week with great patience and humour. The hotel is conveniently located, being 5 minutes walks from the spas, the funicular and the park. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced and I had my meals most days in the hotel. Many of the staff speak perfect English. This hotel is a real find. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere and is highly recommended.
“Home from home”
This hotel is in a very convenient position, close to both railway stations, the spas and the funicular. This was really useful as was solo traveller. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, Marco knows where to go and has lots of maps. Breakfast was good and I ate in the hotel a lot, which was good value for money and Anna helped with my selections. Most of the staff spoke very good English and were very helpful. Would recommend this hotel
“Delightful Experience”
On our recent 11 day stay we felt as though we had been adopted by the management and staff of this family owned and operated hotel. The general manager, Marco, has excellent English language skills and was able to satisfy all of our needs. The entire staff went above and beyond the ordinary to make us feel welcome and "at home". And, while we did not have dinner included in our room rate, the food was so delicious and well presented that we had the majority of our meals in the hotel. It offers a most pleasant atmosphere and we were sad to have to say arrivederci as our stay there ended.
“Excellent small hotel”
Manager was very helpful and considerate. Dining room welcoming and service excellent. English speaking waiter.
“Lovely hotel”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Montebello in Montecatini Terme. The owners and staff could not do enough for us. The owner does not speak English, but his son has an excellent command of the language. Dinner at the restaurant was very reasonably priced and very good. One of the waitresses lived many years in England and will translate the menu for you. All in all a wonderful place to stay.
“Great value......Will return!”
This family run hotel gives splendid value for money. It extends a wonderfully warm and friendly Italian welcome to all its guests of many nationalities, through Marco, the 'patron', Alex, and his hardworking attentive team.Nothing is too much trouble......advice,translation, a cappuchino or beer in the garden room to round off a busy day's shopping or sightseeing. Very comfortable quiet rooms, with efficient air con,and for those who need it a strong 'wifi' connection in-room or in the relaxing lounges. Excellent food ( in generous quantities),both at the fine breakfast buffet,and-should you opt for it- the evening meal too. Centrally placed for Florence, Siena,San Gimignano,Pisa,Lucca,Pistoia ....and the centre of delightful Montecatini Terme itself a gentle stroll away! Will be back to sample the 'mojito'! Enjoyable and memorable stay.
“Hotel Montebello -Montecatini Terme”
