“Will go back next year for sure”
Lovely hotel, staff and facilities in general. A 6 minute walk from the station so a great location. Staff were very attentive and the pool at the end of a busy sightseeing day was just perfect
“Great value and location”
This hotel was definitely a 4 star (meaning very good) in a variety of ways. The entrance, the reception service, the sitting areas, the actual bedroom, the bathroom, the pool area, and the breakfast buffet displayed ongoing thorough maintenance and attention to detail. The local community was quiet and yet there were some nearby great watering holes with beautiful aperitifs included with late night cocktails. I found the hotel location to be exceptional in that the train station was ten minutes walk and the town location was centrally located to Pisa, Lucca, Florence, and Siena-the heart of Tuscany. Not best for singles or families but fantastic for couples and groups.
“Staying in Montecatini Terme”
NIce hotel, very nice bedroom and bathroom. We called after 10Pm for some service oriented items and the front desk person is obviously holding down the fort by himself and is no help. Also, dont be late for breakfast because they are scooping it up right at 10AM and we had to get a little crabby to just get a couple of croissants, juice and coffee. I would stay there again and just lower my expectations a bit on service after 10PM and make myself get up earlier for breakfast. Town is nice and fairly low key. Walk down the hill to the main drag and have dinner on the 5th floor of the hotel there . Great food.
“Excellent staff made our visit special”
We stayed at the hotel for 10 days, using it as a base for exploring the area by train and sometimes on foot. We loved the quiet charm of the spa town and our hotel was less than 5-minutes walk from the centre. The hotel staff were both professional and welcoming and the length of our stay allowed us to get to know some staff a little better. Their warmth and consideration, from reception through to room service was what made our stay special. Their local knowledge was extremely helpful in planning walks and allowed us to see some of the lesser-known sights. From Montecatini, it was possible to take trains to stations along the line from Pisa to Florence, as well as into the hills of the Garfagnana. I particularly loved the open-air swimming pool, which was cool and refreshing after a day's sightseeing.
“Excellent Hotel with great services”
Great Hotel with good location. Close to all activities in Montecantini. Room was big and clean and service was very good. Good breakfast but would have appreciated more fruits. Parking is on the street around hotel, but they offer a discounted parking pass (4 euros) for one day.
“I would go back!”
The hotel is lovely - but do get a superior room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The furniture/furnishings are classy. The staff were friendly. We ate in the hotel twice - lovely steaks and reasonably priced. Breakfast OK. Recommend restaurant ""il Vicolo" - about 800 metres away, behind the new shopping centre. Excellent value for money. Montecatini Terme is not the Riviera, but is a good base for touring (recommend trains). Bus tours are expensive (70 euros p.p.) but will be necessary if no car, to go to San Gimignano, Volterra or San Minateo. Viareggio and Florence are easy train trips away, as is Lucca.
“Beautiful Montecatini”
Two lovely guys on Reception, both have worked for the hotel for years - Fabio and Marco. They couldn't have been more helpful or knowledgeable about the area and surrounding great places to go. The hotel owner is a very gracious Italian lady who is often around the lovely pool tending her flowers. The pool is a good size with showers and sunbeds available. The entrance to the hotel is decorated beautifully, with wonderful light fittings, books and lovely rugs. The bar area is gorgeous and all of the staff are so welcoming, you won't want to leave. The hotel is around a ten minute walk from the station - and from here you can reach Florence, Lucca and even Sienna quite easily. Travel is very reasonable and the service is excellent. There are some great restaurants all within walking distance - Fabio and Marco have all the details and are only to happy to book them for you. The spas in the town are a must - terme is Italian for spa and there are more than 10 of them in Montecatini. The Tettucio spa is wonderful and regularly hosts concerts in the most beautiful setting. We would definitely go back - the hospitatlity at the hotel coupled with the beautiful town are a winner!
“A pleasant surprise.”
We found the staff particularly helpful. They gave us tips for visiting the city, paying parking tickets, attending town fair, etc. This hotel is older but well maintained.
“Ideal location”
Lovely Hotel, upgrade to De-Luxe room well worth the extra.
“Excellent hotel”
One of the best hotels my wife and I have stayed in. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, superb amenities. Very close to the Congess Centre at which I was attending a conference. Hotel amenities included a superb swimming pool which my wife frequented whilst I was at the confernce. Highly recommended.
