Small, delightful period style hotel. Charming hotel, absolutely enchanting. Staff pleasant and helpful. Lovely breakfast al fresco. Very clean except for dust on bedside table but hotel more than made up for that. No bath but good shower with detachable shower head.
I had a fantastic time staying at this hotel in Pisa, i can`t fault it in anyway. This hotel is perfectly situated and is close to the main areas including the famous leaning tower which is a 10 minute walk away. The train station is so close to the hotel which was ideal for using it to get to florence for the day. In the hotel itself i found the staff very friendly and helpful indeed, everywhere was spotless including the rooms which were cleaned every day. The food in the restaurant both morning and evening was very nice and plenty of it too. Overall a first class hotel and if there comes a time when i revisit Pisa i would always pick this hotel first.
We have just returned from a four night stay at the Grand Duomo Hotel in Pisa. Great location only minutes from the Cathedral and Leaning Tower and lots of bars and restaurants to choose from within a short walk. The room was really nice, clean and comfortable and had a very effective air conditioning system which was extremely useful due to the very hot weather. The breakfast offered a good variety of food for all tastes (even toast and marmalade), the staff were courteous and helpful and most spoke very good English.
Boutique hotel with a bed and breakfast feel. Comfortable rooms with sound proof windows/shutters. View of the leaning tower was amazing and it really felt like you could reach out and touch the tower. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. If arriving late, make sure to make arrangements ahead of time as no staff appear to be present overnight.
This hotel was excellent for convenience because its 10mins from airport & right across the street from the train station. You can walk to the tower in 20-30min or the bus stop is right outside the hotel . The bus (LAM rossa) goes from airport right pass the hotel & up to the leaning tower. We used it to & from the airport & the from the tower because of the climb & heat it was good to drive back to hotel, when you leave by the bottom gates (where the bus stop is) there is a lot of stalls selling all sorts of things. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights then got the train to Florence, we came back the day before we where flying home & stayed our last night here so it was easier for going to airport. We loved it ( breakfast was lovely ( for a continental )
So its a hotel, in an alley.
I would advise not to hire a car if staying here.
All the surrounding roads, excuse me alleys, are tight and extremely narrow. and no parking spaces.
The taxi's stop at the mainish alley and you have to walk about 300m to the entrance of he hotel.
Positive side is it was like a five minute walk to the Leaning Tower.
And its close to the river that splits pisa.
It was a short ride to the train terminal, and the airport wasn't much further.
Our room was of average size, two singles pushed together, clean large bathroom. We aso had a mini fridge.
The thing is that the street lights outside came up throught the shutter slats, so if you can sleep like its daytime, the no problem. If you like to sleep when its dark, the room we had sucks.
And at 7 in the morning, no fault to the hotel, the road(alley) construction began. Nothing like a jackhammer alarm clock.
So it wasn't a very peaceful sleep for me.
But breakfast was included and like i said blocks to the Leaning Tower.
