“Convenient Hotel with basic ammenities”
Great place for brief stay night before flight out next am. Less than 10 minutes to airport. Staff efficient and will book transportation to airport for very early am flights. Rooms very clean, large bathrooms. No alarm clocks in rooms, but wake up calls available. Ice available at bar. Easy bus ride to Pisa for about 1.1 Euro. Stop within 2 blocks. Pisa is not within walking distance. Business center consists of 1 computer which is impossible to use during afternoon with sun blazing. Fee charged. Airport pickup available.
“Hotel with contemporary architecture and decent restaurant near Pisa Airport”
Hotel San Ranieri's modern architecture is a surprise in a traditional residential area near Pisa Airport. It provides convenient shuttle service from/to Pisa Train Station and Airport if you request in advance. Restaurant offers more sophisticated choices than a typical airport hotel, including a tasting menu. Food was decent but service inconsistent.
“Lou&Olly”
Nice and clean if not a little basic but perfect for a couple of nights. Restaurant/dining area lacked any atmosphere but food adequate
“Pisa stop over”
This was a great hotel, very comfortable yet modern. They had a very friendly staff and made us feel comfortable. The outside resturant / bar with the big oversized chairs were great on a warm summer night. The room was very nice and we have to say that you need to be very careful closeing the blinds. They are so great at blocking out the light that if you forget what time it is you get lost in the thought that it is nighttime and could easily oversleep.
“Very modern, sleek hotel”
This was a lovely clean hotel, although a bit far from the city centre. However the bus was right outside the hotel (1 Euro each). We were only staying there for one night, after a lovely stay in Siena, before checking in to the airport. It was very modern. My 21 year old daughter said that it was like staying in an Apple Mac! The rooms were lovely and clean with crisp white sheets. In the waiting area there were bowls of sweets and bowls of the most perfect red and green apples. After looking around Pisa, we went back and read our books in the garden. There were a couple of large bed like sun loungers with drapes and cushions-very luxurious where we totally relaxed. There are not many restaurants, but the one oh the corner of the street was very good value for money. We enjoyed eating our breakfast buffet in the garden before having a free transfer to the airport. We would use this hotel before flying back again, but would not really like a longer stay in Pisa as it is not as beautiful as Siena and Florence.
“first choice for a stay in this area next time”
the maitre'd in the restaurant was excellent. great help with choosing food to eat and wine to drink. his recommendations were spot on. really helpful front of house. loved the lobby area. modern and comfortable. only downside was teh lighting in the restaurant and bar area. all too bright and the colors harsh. played havoc with skin tone
“A good hotel but prepare for a bus ride”
The hotel was clean and very modern. The hotel had a very good breakfast and also a large assortment of television channels in English. The only problems with hotel were that its location was far away from the center of town and the Internet never worked for me. The buses run frequently and often and are very clean and cheap, so if you do not mind using public transportation this hotel is a very good one to stay at in Pisa.
“Will return”
Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic hotel. It is out of the way enough to not be plagued by tourist noise. It is within walking distance of the leaning tower (a little over three miles, takes about an hour). The public transport is fantastic, but use Lam blu bus its quicker than the rest (1 Euro for an hour is a great price too). Whatever you do, don't buy drinks in the hotel, complete rip off (3.5 Euros for a can of Coke, 5 Euros for Peroni beer, 5.5 Euros for Corona). I would recommend taking the bus to the supermarket, again Lam Blu, then jump off after the second roundabout. The staff in the hotel spoke very good English, and were incredibly helpful when planning a walk to the tower. I was given a tourist map of Pisa when I arrived at the hotel, so if this is your first trip, make a point of asking for one if its not given to you.
“A superb hotel”
The San Ranieri is a lovely modern, clean and comfortable hotel. We realised it was a little far from the centre of the town before we booked, but this was not a problem atall. We felt it would be too far to walk into town, especially as it was so hot. However, there is a frequent bus service outside the hotel. The hotel reception sells bus tickets, and the cost is just 1 Euro. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and took the bus into the centre of town each day, which was very convenient. Other than the buffet breakfast, which is included in the price, we did not have any other meals in the hotel. However, there is a great bar / restaurant on the corner of the road the hotel is on - we ate there each lunchtime and evening, and can highly recommend it. It is a good job really as, apart from another bar we spotted whilst on the bus, a fairly short distance away (which we didn't try), there is nothing else around for miles!!! So don't expect a wide choice of bars, restaurants or shops as there aren't any!! This struck us as a little odd, as there are a lot of residential properties in the area. In all, an excellent hotel, and Pisa is a lovely city to explore.
“close to airport”
We travelled with our 10 week old baby which meant we required hotel services more than usual. We found all of the staff very friendly and all spoke good English (our Italian was quite poor), they assisted with boiling water for baby, taxis to Pisa and shuttle to the Airport. Our opinion was that the hotel had chosen design over comfort, but the room was very clean and looked new and modern. Our room had the most mirrors we had ever experienced in a hotel! mini bar in room but no hot drink facilities. The hotel had a nice outside bar area with a good cocktail list and the breakfast was lovely. We would stay here again if. A taxi cost 22 euros to Pisa centre.

Area:
Pisa, Italy: Many churches, bridges and fading palazzi adorn this ancient maritime city, but most visitors have eyes for just one building. Pisas famous Torre Pendente (Leaning Tower) seems to defy the laws of physics, which Galileo tested with weights dropped from its summit. Even without its recently stabilized tilt, this marble bell-tower would be an architectural marvel. Two ornate pulpits are highlights of the Duomo and Baptistery nearby.
