pleasant restructured older building in an out of the way town. Town itself is quiet and nice for a walk although one can't expect much in the way of tourist sights. Easy access to Volterra, a bit further to San Gimignano but you can still beat the tour buses by leaving early enough. Countryside around is quite pleasant. Can also easily visit Monteriggioni or Siena from here.
On our way to Tuscany we needed a hotel close to the airport as we arrived late in the evening. Though it is close to the airport a taxi is necessary, not cheap but....got to the hotel where the staff were great, the facilities as you would expect and the room more than adequate. The staff again proved to be attentive but laid back the following morning as we had time to kill and did not leave until mid afternoon. They arranged our cab back to the airport and we went on our way. Could not ask for a better start to our Tuscan adventure.

This modern hotel is set in a striking, glass-fronted structure in the region of Tuscany, just 500 metres from the airport …More
We have just returned from a four night stay at the Grand Duomo Hotel in Pisa. Great location only minutes from the Cathedral and Leaning Tower and lots of bars and restaurants to choose from within a short walk. The room was really nice, clean and comfortable and had a very effective air conditioning system which was extremely useful due to the very hot weather. The breakfast offered a good variety of food for all tastes (even toast and marmalade), the staff were courteous and helpful and most spoke very good English.
Excellent hotel within 20 minute flat walk of Pisa centre. Good sized room at the rear of the building which was very quiet, ample sized bathroom with shower cubicle. All area's of hotel maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
After reading some previous reviews the breakfast was a very pleasant surprise. Good choice of items including cereals, fruit, bread, croissants, eggs & bacon.
Staff very friendly & helpful.
If the 20 minute walk into Pisa sounds too daunting then the "Blue line" bus leaves from the bus stop directly opposite the hotel every 10 minutes, which drops you off outside the railway station. We travelled to both Florence ( 50 mins ) & Lucca by train ( 25 mins ). If you are planning on visiting this area for a short break then Lucca is a must see location, easy to get to & most things can be seen in a full day.
It is a €15 taxi ride from the airport to the hotel, which takes about 10 minutes.
