“Looks better online”

The hotel rates itself as a 5 star hotel - it is actually more on par as a 3 star. We had to ask the hotel staff to come and re-clean our room 3 days out of 5, replace basics such as toilet paper and ended up asking to be moved in response to an influx in ants. Customer service in general was not up to standard - we had to argue to be moved rooms and then we were given a frosty reception for the rest of our stay. The wellness centre was of poor quality - steam room was only switched on if requested and consequently had an unpleasant aroma. The general cleanliness of the hotel was poor. The hotel could improve customer experience by cleaning facilities properly, finishing fixtures and provide a shuttle service into Pisa. Location of the hotel was good in terms of access to main roads - 15 minute drive from the airport (12-15 euro). the walk from the hotel into Pisa was 20 minutes - not a suitable route for people with children, as it involved using main roads with no footpath. would recommend getting a taxi (15 euro). If you are able to get a room with a view of the leaning tower the view is spectacular. Hotel breakfast was good. However, the other meals gave a poor reflection of Tuscan dining and was expensive - would recommend heading into Pisa for better tasting and cheaper dining.

Area recommendations

I would recommend Pisa as a day trip/ overnight, florence for a few days, lucca and Bagni de luca for a few days

“All good :)”

Hotel was really nice. Room was excellent and service spot on. No complaints at all. Bus stop outside entrance was really useful and only 15/20mins walk to tower. Meal at hotel quite expensive but well worth it. Amazing food and service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Area recommendations

Lucca was lovely. Typical Tuscan town surrounded by a huge wall you could walk around. After seeing tower etc, venture off down the small roads for lovely buildings and scenery.

“Hated location, rude service but clean hotel”

We were only staying one night in Pisa so I didn't care that much about which hotel we stayed at but I would not recommend this hotel for anyone if you care at all about location. It was walking distance to the Tower but it was a pretty long and really unpleasant walk that entails crossing a major intersection without a crosswalk and going under a long underpass/tunnel. The guy at the hotel suggested we walk but we took a cab back and recommend using a cab to get to town / the Tower. The room was pretty nice except that the shower didn't drain well. The first room we had smelled of really bad B.O. but they were able to move us. Other than that, the free breakfast was pretty good as far as free breakfast buffets go. The selection was a little limited but the food they had was ok. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless all you want is a clean place to lay your head for the night.

“What a great find!”

Abitalia Tower Plaza far exceeded our expectations: beautiful hotel, excellent food, helpful and efficient staff, good value for the money, and the perfect view of the Tower without all the tourists! The hotel is also within walking distance of Pisa and the Leaning Tower; however, I would not want to walk back through the tunnel at night. Pisa is an easy train ride from Florence.

“Nice hotel in Pisa”

The only gripe I had with the location of the hotel was with the busy underpass leading to the centre. I love Italy to bits but these underground tunnels are horrendous. Pollution, noise, sadly a dead cat at the side of the road .... I used that underpass once only:( Hotel was fabulous, restaurant staff absolutely lovely, food very reasonable apart from the sweets which were a little expensive.

“excellent luxury hotel more for airport than city”

New hotel - luxurious and close to airport. Very good restaurant. Try to get room on 2nd floor (or above) on the Pisa side, view of the leaning tower in the distance. As a hotel to stay in before or after a flight it's perfect. Less sure about as base for exploring city because that wasn't our objective.

“Be Sure to Investigate Actual Hotel Condition/Amenities vs. Expedia Information”

I wanted 3 things from this hotel: a pool for my son, a gym for me, and internet access in the room. The hotel actually had a sign indicating directions to the indoor pool, and my son and I followed them to no avail. Upon asking, the pool and gym were closed for renovation. This kind of status update should have been provided to me at reservation time.

“Das Hotel Abitalia liegt 15 Minuten vom schiefen Turm von PISA”

Das Hotel liegt recht zentral, aber es entspricht bei weitem keinem 5 Sterne Hotel, unserer Meinung maximal 3+. Die Ausstattung war ok, das Frühstück mittelmäßig. Parkplätze waren gebügend vorhanden, WLAN war kostenlos.

“Ottimo per Business”

Buona posizione, camere moderne e molto spaziose. Anche il bagno è davvero ampio. Unico neo, la vasca, con doccia assai scomoda. Buona la posizione, ottima la colazione. Per lavoro è l'ideale.
