This was our choice as a convenient base for visiting Buckingham Paace but it offered so much more than location.
All the staff made us feel very welcome and the service was discreet and polished but in no way pompous or haughty. All the staff were cheerful and helpful and we even enjoyed a bit of banter and humour.
Check in and check out were both easy and pleasant and Afternoon Tea, cocktails and breakfast were all delightful experiences.
The location is great for shopping , theatres and culture and Green Park is just a few steps away.
I have stayed in over thirty different hotels in central London but this would now be my first choice. My only worry about staying here again would be that I might not want to leave to go to a meeting!

I booked a superior room at the Cavendish for three nights stay over the weekend of 19-22 September. The staff proved very welcoming and helpful at all times. They have been exceptionally well trained and this is particularly true of the restaurant staff. My room on the 7th floor was situated near the lifts but I was completely undisturbed by any noise. Bathroom is well designed although I found the side of the bath fairly high for getting in an out of. This might prove a serious difficulty for a disabled person. The express lunch and early pre theatre dinner is excellent value and beautifully presented. My only complaint is that the food might have been a bit hotter. Breakfast (at £22) I found was rather expensive although there was a very wide choice on offer including Eggs Benedict. I would have preferred to have been offered a continental breakfast at a lower rate - fruit juice, cereal and toast. Overall I rate this hotel very highly and would certainly use it again and recommend it.
