“Always a great time....”

This is our sixth trip to LBR. We continue to enjoy the very friendly staff, great location, wonderful food, and fantzstic beach. However, if you go during the rainy season, you may want to check the restaurant schedules - some may be closed certain evenings. We're looking forward to returning again in the future!

“Lovely resort”

Again we had a lovely holiday at Laguna Beach Resort. The staff are so helpful and polite. The gardens are magnificent. The resort has been taken over by new owners and will be undergoing refurbishment sometime next year. I hope it does not change too much as we love it the way it is. The only problem we had this time was there was some construction happening where the old pool bar used to be. It was very noisy when lying by the pool hearing machinery. We were also a bit annoyed that this was not disclosed to us prior to making our booking. Otherwise a lovely stay.

Around the Laguna area is lovely. Very safe and clean.

“Loved the hotel and the staff. Meena the Baby Elephant a highlight.”

Our stay at Laguna Beach Resort was brilliant. The food was great and the service first class. The pool was awesome and the kids had an absolute ball and were well catered for in Kids Club. I will definately be recommending the resort to family and friends.

Area recommendations
Patong is great for market shopping. The Black Cat restaurant is the best in the Laguna Resort area plus we would also recommend the Lotus Restaurant. Thai Food at both restaurants was first class.
Getting there
Malaysia Airlines is brilliant. On time, great food, great staff.
Dining
The Black Cat Restaurant is the best. Beautiful Thai Food plus a big choice of western style food for the kids including pizza and pasta. The menu is huge and the prices all very reasonable. We had dinner at the Black Cat for 3 nights in a row. The big plus is that like other local restaurants they will collect you from the hotel and return you after the meal. The Lotus restaurant would have to be the pick for location. On the sea edge the restaurant is well presented. The service was a little slow...however there was 11 people at our table. The food again was excellent but nearly twice the price of the Black Cat.

“Laaaaguuuunaaaaa!”

Excellent attentive staff. Very helpful and courteous. Room staff were excellent as well. I had a small maintenance issue which was remedied with a room change immediately. Good selection of TV channels. The physical property was immaculate. Pool temperature perfect. Breakfast buffet was wide and varied... Great omelet to order station, fruit, breads, excellent. Staff did some research on my flight home, in light of the natural disaster in Japan, which I appreciated. I will return to Phuket, and if available will likely return. I like BangTao Bay and the surrounds. Great variety of clientele from all over the world.

Get out and explore the non-tourist areas for great food.....

“1st time to Phuket !!”

We would be more than happy to recommend this resort to anyone, It was recommended to us by two different people. The staff were fantastic nothing was too difficult for them. We loved the baby elephant that wonders through the resort three to four times a day. Everything you could want in water sports are provided with a smile. A free shuttle bus goes into town half hourly and a complimentary water taxi picks up and drops off to three other resorts nearby

“Beach blocked by shanty shops”

The hotel was fine, nice and clean. The pool was done really well, looking like it was made inside old Thai temple ruins. However, the beach was a different story. Somehow, several little shanty shops have been placed in between the hotel and the beach. So you could not see the beach or ocean at all from the hotel, even through the hotel is right on the beach. It cost a lot to taxi to the airport, find a city taxi, not the hotel taxis.

“Great option for families in the Laguna area”

We recently spent 12 nights at Laguna beach Resort as a family of 4 in a Lagoon Studio room. The hotel was a good option is you have kids (lagoon Studio has living area and a separate reclining area near the balcony which was good area for kids play - lots of space). After visiting all the other hotels in the area (which you can do by boat or shuttle for free) - we believe it had the best pool of all - very traditional , great slide and lots of different places for the kids to explore. The beach was mostly red flagged meaning dangerous to swim in but possibly the time of year we went. Villagers have shops just outside the perimeter and very friendly. If you like getting out of hotel - hire a car via Expedia before you go as its cheaper than doing from hotel. Easy to get around and cheaper than taxis to Patong.

Area recommendations
There are lost of good restaurants if you can get away from the hotel - we found a magnificent one at Bang Tao beach but need a car to get there and trust your instincts - if there are people eating in there - its usually good. Buy your drinks and snacks away from hotel - lots of Tesco's and 7/11's. Day trips - definetly get out to Islands like Phi Phi etc but remember the brochures dont show you the 20 other boats also there and their 300+ passengers but the water and beaches were spectacular if indeed crowded - if i went again I'd probably see how much a charter cost so you could find a less crowded spot..

“Das Laguna Beach Hotel ist renovierungsbeduerftig und der Strandzugang verbaut”

- Thai Verkaufshuetten verbauen die komplette Hotelfront zum Strand - ausschliesslich lautes Familienhotel, keine Infrastruktur fuer Paare oder Einzelpersonen - das Hotel entspricht max. einem 3 Sterne Standard: Gebaeude, Raeume und Infrastruktur sind stark renovierungsbeduerftig - das Einchecken beim russischen Guest Relation Manager war sprachlich bedingt (Engl. Sprachkenntnisse eingeschraenkt) holprig - Hygieneerwartungen des Hotelpersonals aufgrund unappetitlicher Vorfaelle im Poolbereich als mangelhaft zu bewerten - das Duschwasser war beginnend braun - Guest Relation Manager und Hotelmanager waren an den Gruenden der vorzeitigen Abreise nicht interessiert und drohten mit Strafzahlungen

Area recommendations
Dusit Laguna: das Hotel entspricht dem 4,5 Sterne Standard und hat eine gute Mischung aus internationalen Gaesten aus allen Generationen.

“評判以上によかったです。”

他のレビューで日本人客に対する態度が良くないような事が書かれていたので、覚悟してましたが、全くそんなことはなく、とてもフレンドリーで快適に過ごせました。 日本語がわかるスタッフがいないため、そう感じる人が居るのかもしれませんが、基本英語がわかる人であれば、困ることは無いと思います。 無線ＬＡＮが別料金だったのはちょっと気になりました。 タイ料理以外はイマイチだったりもしますが、10分もあるけば外のレストランもありますし問題ありませんでした。 夜10時ぐらいまで、カラオケをやっていて、落ち着けない時があるのはNGかも。 象を飼っているようで、小象がビーチや通路を歩いてくるのは子連れには相当ポイント高いです。プールの作りも子供が遊びやすいし。 今回プーケットは初めてなので、他と比較は出来ませんが、また泊まってもよいと思いました。

ビーチ。とにかく綺麗。 ダイビングへ行くにはやや不便か。
