“Great Stay!”
Booked with Expedia, all smooth and efficient. Arrived at hotel about an hour earlier than check-in, no drama. Cool lemon drink while checking in and new room assigned. No waiting, no delay. Amenities were all good, and this was following severe rain storms that had created technology disruptions to telecoms. Only item not functioning was hotel phone while waiting installation of new PABX. No problem for us as we use Skype or mobile phones and could walk downstairs and have an (old-fashioned) face to face conversation if needed a question answered. Staff were brilliant! Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. We felt very welcome at all times and will go back. Location was excellent for us - could walk to beach to shops or if feeling lazy could hire a taxi from outside or across the road. Great T shirt shop (new addition to the restaurant/cafe "Thai Thai Restaurant". This is a new venture for the owner and he has a select number of hand-painted T shirts created from images designed locally. The restaurant is great value for money and well patronised - really pleasant owners. The food at Alpina Nalina was good quality and easy on the pocket. Alpina Nalina experience was an excellent value for money stay via the Expedia rate and only problem is, how long will it be before we can return? Soonish, we hope. Recommend it to others. Enjoy!
“very good hotel”
excellent hotel
“The best place to recharge & unwind.”
A beautiful and relaxing resort with an excellent day spa. Great buffet breakfast, with a daily changing menu. The staff were extremely accommodating with requests fulfilled and aimed to please. Kata beach is only a short stroll away or if you prefer to relax by the pool which is huge & has a bar :-). The only fault i can pick is the a/c was a little noisy but chilled the room beautifully. All staff spoke english which was a bonus. Patong only being 10 minutes away was great for shopping and nightlife. You won't be disappointed with this hotel.
“Great value for money”
The Alpina resort is located on kata beach, which is far from the airport (1 hour drive) but the transfer is quite painless so that was not much of an issue for us. The rooms in this hotel are huge, and come with balcony and large bathroom, which is always a plus. The major down-side of the hotel rooms is that the beds are rock hard - maybe to encourage customers to relax at their over-priced spa after a night of twisting and turning? We went during off season so it was fairly quiet, but I can imagine that when the high season starts and Russian tourists flood in, this place could get pretty loud. Major bonus of this hotel: the swimming pool is the best I have ever seen in any hotel bar none. It's huge, it has deep and shallow ends, it comes with a jacuzzi and it's clean and warm! We used it at all times of day and evening. There is a tour operator with a desk at reception, which means that we painlessly booked all of our activities at the start of our holiday and paid for them there and then: horse riding, diving, rafting, elephant trecking... all transfers to and from the activities were arranged for us. Absolutely hassle-free. Major down-side of the hotel: the cleaning staff must have thought that they were on holiday too. It seems like cleaning the shower was too much work for them and the drain got so blocked that we flooded the bathroom. But given how little we paid for this hotel, it is amazing value for money!
“Good overall”
The closest beach is not within a reasonable walking distance but there is a transportation service provided by the hotel that runs every hour. Chairs and towels are also provided by the hotel at the beach. The facilities look good in general and the swimming pool is very nice. The lowest point would be the rooms, they need better maintenance (especially the toilet) and personally, i didn't like the design, the rooms are too dark. Now, the point of being here is the beach, so its not a deal breaker really. There are lots of water features around the hotel, which are very nice, but there are loads of mosquitoes around, wonder if the hotel could do something about this. The staff was always very helpful.
“Great hotel”
I did not intend on staying in Phuket, I was on my way to Phi Phi and the ferry left before my flight arrived so I had to stay one night in phuket, so I guess my reasons for staying here were a little different to most people in phuket. I needed to choose a hotel that was clean and cheap and within the region of pickup by the ferry minivan. it was ~40mins drive from the hotel to the rassada pier but it didn't matter. i didn't actually go out in phuket town or kata beach (because we arrived in the evening and were leaving at 7am the next morning) but for what we required the hotel was excellent. it was clean, very good services, the breakfast was excellent (and started at 6:30am which suited us) and the hotel restaurant served very good quality food for dinner. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely too. The hotel was excellent value for money, we had a balcony with steps into the pool (literally it was that close) and the hotel itself was fantastic. We didn't go out of the hotel at all but it was a bit of a drive to the beach. the hotel provided a shuttle bus service to the beach though if you wanted to go there.
“Alpina, Kata Beach. Phuket”
Lovely resort, very quiet when we were there in May. Good location, hired a scooter and could get to everywhere we wanted to. Good staff and resort facilities. Would be happy to return.

“Very good hotel ,quiet ,not on the beach but there is a shuttle.”
Great hotel but not on the beach or ocean view. However there is a free shuttle to the beach. the hotel provides chair and towel.
“Great Staff”
Definately not a 4.5 star, more like a 3.5. Staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful especially at the pool bar. All in all would stay there again but would not pay full rate.
