We had an acceptable pool villa with beach access for which we had paid handsomely however I’d have been horrified to be in the huge block rooms. The resort is jaded and unloved. The dining room is scruffy and a total covid hazard. Tabl s have dirty mats and uneven surfaces. This is the first hotel where I saw guests actually bringing in their own breakfast ( as opposed to taking fruit etc out) it c a n only be described as basic and pedestrian with poor choice and little attention to top up empty platters. The beach is beautiful unspoilt and lovely but sadly the hotel needs to refurbish and bring it into the 21st century. The decking around our villa was treacherous, peeling paint and unattractive. The gardens could be better maintained. Given better management and a makeover this hotel could be lovely as it has prime beach front position

Great resort - just needs more guests so go soon.
It is sad to see a resort of this size with only us 4 as guests for the 4 days we stayed there but despite that we still enjoyed our stay very much. We missed the very good breakfast buffet that they served in 2019 when we were there but still enjoyed a good breakfast that was cooked to order with a very good selection to choose from. The service overall was excellent but one lady, Aom, stood out with good communication skills and a real passion for serving her customers. Rooms had lots of space and comfortable beds and there was a bath and a nice walk in shower. Overall a very good hotel and I hope that things will change fast so that they can get back to normal.

Everything here was satisfactory. Beds clean and room clean. The pool was well used and the kids slide was a real hit. It’s a nice family getaway, having the two bedroom suite with bunk beds and an extra bed for our 3 children was perfect. The staff were very friendly and we brought our bikes and scooters with us and the children loved getting around the huge resort this way. Breakfast buffet with eggs station, live noodle station and pancake station was very good. We would have loved some non sweetened yoghurts and cereals and freshly cut fruits for a healthier cold breakfast but all in all it was a good meal. Great family getaway.

Massive modern rooms, beautiful beach and location
We stayed in 2 family rooms (2 adults and 4 kids aged 2-10) next to each other, they were massive, modern clean and very comfortable with a playground in courtyard. Rooms were located at back of resort near main strip of town, there were heaps of local shops and restaurants near by. Resort is huge so recommend a stroller for young children as beach was a 5-10 min walk from room at other end of resort. Beach is stunning! Pools are big and never felt crowded. Big waterslide in one of pools that kids loved. Breakfast was great but location was very hot if u sat outdoors. might be better if they made breakfast down near the beach with a bit of a breeze. Street food available at various times in different locations of resort. Didn’t find the communication about this great but once discovered we thought these food and cocktails were great. Didn’t eat at main restaurants as appeared pricey. Kids used kids club and enjoyed. Supervision appeared lacking at times though and any extra cooking or craft activities were $$$- not an interest to my kids anyway though. Kids loved the waterslide races run by entertainment team. The longer we stayed here and discovered little joys the more we loved this resort. Stayed 4 nights would have loved at least one more

Disappointing
Lots of staff that do not seem to be doing much. Hotel is very expensive to eat and drink in, three times the price of local bars and restaurants. The offer happy hour at certern areas at certain times... good look finding it. By the time you’ve found out which one is doing the promotion it has ended. Issues with food that we ordered there (took over a hour and it still didn’t arrive) Issues with checking in, we were left for a hour and told to wait for a room Key cards failed twice and took a hour to get someone out to fix the door and give us entry Overall just a bit of a disappointing stay really.

Check in took 30-40 minutes. The first room we were shown had a very strong musty smell. We were given another room which seemed fine. However, when we went to bed there was an animal scratching in the roof space all night. Don't know what kind of animal and even though we rang for help the staff could not do anything to get to it. The Hotel itself is very nice and right on the beach. The sun beds on the beach front are crammed in behind a wall. There is a little buggy that can transport you around the complex and the staff are very helpful.

Sensational Centara Seaview Khao Lak
Centara Seaview Resort is one of the best Resorts that we stayed in . Great location on the beach and the staff are amazing here . Sabina and Mai at check in are really welcoming and friendly. . Batman and his staff are always eager to take You to the top of the Resort in their Golf Carts . The Pools are amazing . Food is excellent in this Resort . We will be back .

Great hotel for families. Staff were awesome, friendly and attentive to all our needs. This was experienced when we had a small problem with out air conditioner on one of the nights. Hotel moved us to a temporary room for one night to allow kids to sleep and then timely repair and prompt feedback the next day. Hotel made upgrade $$$ for last two night free of charge. I would recommend this hotel for anyone with kids (mine are 6 and 13). Both had a great time. We (the Parents) lounged by the pool and did a whole lot of nothing. Perfect Holiday, Great Hotel, Thanks Centara for everything.

This was worst hotel I have stayed at for a long time. Dirty rooms, poor breakfast, broken lounges around pool. Locked out on balcony due to broken lock. Staff mostly miserable, no good morning just awful.

Really nice place
Great place to stay. Beach is basically awesome, the service is great. Breakfast buffet is really nice, lunch and dinners are ok but you can find other places better for about the same price. Beds are really nice. Property is a little aged but the three pools are nice. Kids enjoyed the slide. Btw, the Ocean View has no view of the ocean whatsoeves; still very nice though.

wonderful hotel. On beach and close to town.
My husband and myself had a lovely 10 days here. Older style ,family friendly hotel right on the beach.With terrific buffet breakfast. Close to main street with a variety of bars and eateries. We would not hesitate to come back to the Centara Seaview for another stay. Found the staff very pleasant and helpful. The General Manager could be seen at some point each day talking to guests and staff alike. If you are looking for a laid back place to stay I would give this hotel a try.

Good service, did negotiate a late check out although they were fully booked. We were up two flights of stairs so difficult bringing luggage back down but was brought up. Parts of the complex were a bit shabby and the wardrobe smelt damp but all else was 4 star. WiFi a little unreliable but ther were storms during our stay. Would return but request accommodation in the grounds not in the blocks. Beautiful beach with Centara beds and clean large towels.

Very nice resort but limited kids entertainment
Centara is next to a beautiful beach and has three amazing swimming pools. We had the two bedroom family residence which was very spacious and comfortable. The buffet restaurant (the other restaurant was under renovation when we were there) was very good and right on the beach. Our only disappointment came from the limited kids entertainment option with only half an hour of structured activity for kids planned daily. We therefore ended up not using the kids club at all wchich somehow defeats a bit the purpose of choosing this place.

Some rooms long walk to beach and breakfast.
Hotel rooms are spread over a large area. Some rooms are near the beach, pool and breakfast. These rooms are about 800 meters from the road and all the shops and restaurants. The rooms which are family family rooms are the other way around being near the shops etc. We found this better for us due to not eating in the hotel other than breakfast which was provided. Hotel has 2 large pool areas 1 by the beach and another in the middle of the resort. All round had a great time any issues quickly dealt with by staff.

Had a great 5 night stay in the Ocean wing rooms. Spacious and close to the beach and dinner/breakfast area. Staff made me feel welcome and were professional. Shopping nearby is a short walk and the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle as well.

Gorgeous pools for all ages
We were impressed with the pools. The main one is huge and has a fantastic slide, fun for all ages. There is a little slide for small kids. You will not be disappointed. The breakfasts have a variety of meals, slightly changing every day. They are great! Buffet dinners are highly recommended as well, very reasonable price. Everything was fantastic, but the resorts itself needs renovation.

Family short stay
Excellent location only few minutes walk to main road and beach. Beautiful surroundings great pools. Stayed in family residence rooms which is in seperate area from main hotel but has buggy service to drive back and forth or walk 5 minutes. Friendly staff. Would come back!

Hotel with two wings separated by a beach road
Very friendly and helpful staff greeted us every where we went which brings a smile to all. Good selection at breakfast. Room with seaview was big and comfortable although the balcony was not. This wing is located on the beachfront with plenty of loungers. The "Headgirl" tended to be everywhere during our stay in September and judging by other feedback seemed to go down favourably with guests.

What you expect from Centara

Family Holiday in Kao Lak
We had spent the first part of our holiday in Phuket and found it to be over-developed, crowded and totally tourist - driven. It was a totally different experience when we travelled north to Kao Lak. The resorts here are tastefully nestled amongst native rainforest and a real sense of being in paradise exisits here. Kao Lak runs at a much slower pace than Phuket and our family of 4 liked this. The Centara Seaview resort has been rebuilt after being destroyed in the Boxing Day Tsunami 10 years ago. Symmetrical design for all the wonderful pools and facilities capture the natural beauty of the area. Our accomodation was at the rear of the resort up the hill (where the tsunami safe zone is!!). However we found this location a burden as we had a long walk to an from the main restaurant the beach and the main swimming pools. They offer a free buggy service to go up and down the hill but it was sometimes a nusiance waiting for this. We would recommend the bungalows on the beach or within the main resort area near the pools if you can afford it as this would offer superior accomodation and ease of access to all the facilities. T

Nice Hotel, family friendly
The hotel was great, the only complaint was a not so clean pool one day. The location is great and the ocean view rooms are the best for the $. It is not "perfect" and many say it needs an update. If you want perfect there is many other places at much higher rates. It is very "Thai" and perfect with 2 young kids. (6,8) We would go back anytime.

Great hotel, easy stroll to beach and shops.
We stayed as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 16 and 11) for 4 nights in November after we had spent 5 nights in Karon.. We had interconnecting deluxe garden rooms close to the main pool. Both rooms were large with plenty of space and had everything that we needed. The bathrooms were clean and staff did a great job of cleaning and restocking items during our stay if needed. From our rooms it was a short stroll to breakfast which had a large variety of foods to choose from that would suit even the fussiest of eaters. We ate our other meals at the local restaurants which again is only a few minutes walk from the resort. We were lucky to be there on the opening weekend of tourist season so there was plenty of options for eating out. There is even a McDonalds at Khao Lak which suited our 2 kids as an alternative to Thai food. The pools are large and finding a quite spot to cool off was not hard. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Centara Seaview and would recommend to family and friends.

A very pleasant stay.
A very pleasant stay at the Centara, Khao Lak. The hotel was quiet as it is the low season, but all facilities were available. I booked a room in the garden area, but they up-graded me to a sea view room free of charge due to the low season which was a very nice surprise. The staff worked hard to keep the pool area clean with a few storms causing sand and leaves to blow around. The food was good, particularly the breakfasts which were excellent. The room was very clean and of a good size, with a small balcony. The immediate surrounding area had a few cafes, but they were mostly closed again due to the season, however, the best bar for live music was very close by. I will certainly go back to this hotel, and in the low season it is excellent value for money.

Good resort with many facilities
Quick check-in for a very late arrival. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was large with two king size beds and a good size balcony. All toiletries replenished daily as required as well as teas, coffee and water. The resort is set on the beach area and Khaolak does not allow jet skis or similar so unspoiled views with a long sandy beach for walking. The grounds were well kept and the pool areas were attractive with ample sunbeds and shades. The food was overpriced but the bar had a 4-8 pm half price for 2 cocktails. A buggy was available at the lobby to transport you to the top of the resort leading onto the main street where there were many restaurants and shops, it was out of season (26th June - 9th July) so very quiet and opening times varied. Many tourist attractions were closed but the local market opened on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday from 4 pm til approx 8 pm. It was about 15 mins walk down the road. There were clothes, local food and eateries all at good prices. We were never disappointed with Thai food, taste, presentation, and price excellent. The most we paid for two meals with drinks was £13. The National Park was close by but be warned the nature trail was not an easy walk. Narrow, rocky and potentially dangerous in parts especially after rain. Good shoes and mosquito spray recommended. A local bus to Phuket town for 100 thb each can be caught on the main road, comfortable although shabby and does not take much more time than a taxi, bargain!

Dear Val, Thank you for your review. Great feedback, new clothes racks have just arrived, so every room has a rack now, of course very important when having to dry bathing suits and towels. The local market opens on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, great for a stroll and good for buying souvenirs. Every day we offer streetfood stations for those guests that wish to profit, the food is a 100 Baht per portion, very attractive prices and good quality offers.

Website was deceiving
Looked in the website and thought the rooms looked quite new and nice but when we arrived and was taken to our room it was in the old wing of the hotel. The rooms were terrible - old with chipped wood and flaking paint. Bathroom was dark and smelt damp. The room had so mosquitoes probably due to the rancid water outside in what I can only assume is some kind of disused water feature.

Large hotel in spacious grounds next to the sea
This is a large hotel site with several large swimming pools and some lovely landscaped gardens which are very attractive when lit at night. At one end, the hotel finishes at the beach where you can walk for a long way depending on the tides. At the other end the hotel nearly reaches the main road where the numerous bars, restaurants, travel agents, shops, pharmacies, etc are located. From the beach it is about a 10 minute walk through the grounds to the main road and the tourist facilities. The room we had was large and clean with good storage, a large bathroom and the usual facilities as coffee making, a safe, TV, seats, etc. The buffet breakfast was good but as usual you can tire of it after the first week or so. We only bought one meal and drink at the hotel during our stay and found the prices to be extortionately high particularly when you know the choice and prices you have just a 10 minute walk away. There are inevitably some things they could have could have done better, for example some of the walls could do with a coat of paint, the a/c whist effective is loud even on its lowest setting, the lighting in the room is dull. Now the best bit, the staff where all superb. Very friendly with lots of smiles, and always willing to help.

Perfect for Families
Full of warm friendly faces, Centara is a wonderful Hotel. Two huge pools one with a great water slide to keep your children amused for hours. Then a gentle stroll to the the beach front pool to watch an amazing sun set.This Hotel is not brand sparkling new ,However it has beautiful lush well maintained gardens with plenty of trees to offer shade in the Thailand heat. Just as a hotel should be in Thailand. So glad we did not choose the more modern Sands as it looked souless and offered no shade.. I must make mention of the beautiful house keeper "Wat" a lovely lady who made us feel so special, bringing us fresh fruit from a friends house or something she picked up from the market . These are the small things that make a memorable holiday. The friendly advise and chats with the lovely hotel Manager Wayne and Pong at the sports bar. We loved our stay here and highly recommend it to any one considering staying here. Also make sure you eat at the Green Beach cafe turn right at the beach for yummy cheap thia food with a the perfect view.
