“Nice old hotel, worth coming back”
The Royal Phuke Yacht Club is a very nice hotel and if you are looking for a nice relaxing and quiete vacation the perfect spot. The hotel is some years old, which you for sure can see, but I have to say it is well maintained and you do not feel the age. The location is right on the beach with a nice and easy access. Ok, the "hotel beach" was not available half the time, because the water was to high and the hotel has only a small area at the beginning of the beach which was flooded all the time. But who cares, the beach was big enough and the 100 bath for a sun bed was really not worth talking. :-) The breakfast was nice, even though it got a bit boring after a while, as it was the same every day. They should try to get more tables, as we had to wait almost every second day, as no table was availabe, but only for some minutes and when you are on vacation, time has a different meaning for me. The food in the hotel was really way to expensive, as just in front of the hotel there are a lot of nice restaurants where you pay about 1/10 of the price then in the hotel and the food was very nice outside. A big highlight was the balcony which is really huge and very nice to sit in the evening and look at the sea. I would reccomend the hotel, but do not expect a lot of action, as Nai Harn beach is very quiete and nothing is going on. Andreas and Maisa
“Relaxing holiday location.”
Friendly staff who who did their best to make the guest comfortable. A quiet location and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a seaside holiday, for couples and families. Our 2nd visit and will be returning.
“Phuket's best beach”
There are only two other hotels nearby so Nai Harn Beach isn't crowded and is a great little surf beach. Fourth stay at RPYC and we have travelled quite a bit in Thailand - you would be hard pressed to beat this for value for money. Too far from Patong if you want all-night parties but ideal for a beach holiday, with sun, surf, nice rooms and good food. Needs a lick of paint here and there in some general areas and they could do something good with the conference room type areas, which look on the bay and seem unused, but the rooms are great, all with views over the beach. French chef has been there for quite some time and we're sure he's the inspiration behind the outstanding bakery products in the restaurants!
“Good place to stay if you are in Nai Harn beach”
Hi All, On the plus side: We stayed there for 6 nights in April 2011. In general their service was great. The staff were friendly and courteous. This is the kind of place where you want to get away from people and relax. If you are looking for such a place then it is great. The view from the balcony overlooking the bay is fantastic and inviting. On the minus side: It is far from places like Patong beach (which is the main tourist hang out). Getting around from this hotel to other towns may be costly and I would suggest that you negotiate with taxi driver before jumping into the cab or hire a scooter. The food at the hotel is a bit expensive - but not to worry there are plenty of places in walking distance with great food. Watch out for the laundry bill - very high :) There are people who do that for cheaper. I would urge you to go snorkelling - there is a small Island there - totally worth it. There are also a lot of nice places for massages and so on very close by. So to sum up. If you are the type of person who likes clubbing and the night life I would recommend not staying at this hotel but choosing a hotel in Patong, Kata or Karong beach. But if you are the type of person who wants a bit of peace and quite and a more tranquil stay then I recommend this place. I enjoyed my stay here and hope you do too.
“This is the only place in Phuket for quiet and calm relaxation. Rent a car for comfortable rides.”
After four days we spent in Movenpick Karon Beach Hotel before Tai New Year The Club seemed like paradise. Cozy corner of happiness and relaxation. Perfect deluxe room with private sunny 30 m2 terrace and walnut parquet. Excellent food! Take a car for couple days to all hidden places in Phuket. 5 days will be enough. Budget will bring the car free of charge. Thanks specially to Diane and Paul.
“Peace and serenity”
This is a lovely hotel in an absolutely idealic location. The rooms are spacious and the private balcony provides magnificent views over the prettiest bay in Phuket. The hotel is getting a little tired and in need of a facelift in many places. The staff were very attentive and friendly but sometimes not very informative. The beach is magnificent and nice and quite away from the rush and hassle. The food in the restaurants was good but a little overpriced as was the wine. We were there for New Years Eve and booked in for the gala funtion in the main dining room. At 10,000 Baht it was very expensive and very poor value for money with no drinks included and very poor quality entertainment. This was the only disappointment for us in a truly magnificent spot.
“An individual hotel with a superb location”
We flew in from Bangkok and were in need of some peaceful relaxation in beautiful surroundings and this was exactly what the Royal Yacht Club offered. The decor is 'old colonial' rather than minimalist chic but we personally found this charming and reminded us of The Royal Palm in Mauritius. The mix up with the overbooking was inconvenient but the staff appeared genuinely concerned and keen to resolve the matter so by Day 2 we were spoilt with the most sumptious suites with an incredible view of the sea. The beach below is excellent and there is a wide choice of shack style eateries serving Thai.
“The hotel was good, but now it is very tired and not well managed, since Le Meridien left it.”

“AMAZING!! A treat for your senses.”
Beautiful hotel, great staff, and a beautiful, private beach which is a plus for those seeking serenity and relaxation. A bit far off from night life and touristy areas but that was a benefit to me. Breafast was not great, I've had much better in other countries but for Thailand this seems to be the norm
“Wish I was there right now...”
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Phuket Yacht Club. Our room wasn't anything special; it definitely could have used updating. There were stains on the carpet. However, the balcony/terrace was amazing. It was as big as the room and had a wicker sofa, two chairs, a coffee table, a small table and chairs for eating, and two lounge chairs with an umbrella. It overlooked the ocean and was private. Half of the balcony is covered with a roof, half is open air. Two days we didn't leave our balcony! The breakfast provided by the hotel was good. You can select one item from the menu, and there is also a buffet with items that changed daily. We ate mostly at the smaller cafe for dinner because it was cheaper but the food was still excellent. I had more mango in four days than I had in my entire life! It was delicious. There were a few local shops and restaurants nearby, but we didn't try them. If you plan to go out and about in Phuket, this is not the hotel for you. It is far from the town. My husband and I didn't want to do that anyway. Beach is nice, right down a flight of stairs, and the pool is also nice. We were frustrated when we tried to book an excursion that wasn't running on the final day of our vacation. They did not suggest an alternative. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat!
