“Will go back”
Nice place, Doing some remoldeling and made parking some what difficult. No Fridge in room. Great location,
“Have loved it for 20 years, now. Would not stay anywhere else in the Phoenix area.”
The hotel is as relaxing, comfortable and handsome as it was when I first stayed almost 20 years ago. The service is impeccable and the food, well-prepared and varied. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. The large sink and dressing area allow for independent and private use of the bathroom and dressing in comfort. I loved that there was a patio in front and a large sliding door in the rear. The pools are great! I will come back the next chance I get.
“This place rocks!”
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great customer service. The grounds were lovely and well-maintained (and as a nice touch, all the different species of roses were labeled). The spa was over the top and the work-out facility was state of the art. We are definitely returning again.
“Not great for NASCAR fans”
We were at the Wigwam for the Kobalt 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. We were told they were partners with the track. Unfortunately there was nothing associated with any of the activities. Most troubling was the fact everything was geared towards golf. The cable service was so minimal there was no Speed station and television quite old. That is a must for NASCAR fans. It was also VERY expensive with a "Resort fee" per day added to your bill. Dining was upper end price wise. Might be good for upper-middle class family vacation and golfers, The grounds were lovely!.
“Wigwam Resort”
Excellent hotel.
“Would love to go back again and again :)”
I loved my view...looking at the Oasis Pool! Quiet.
“Don't stay here, spend your money on somewhere worthy of 4 stars! And no resort fee of $18 a day”
Like you I read reviews on Expedia because I want to gain valuable insights on where I am about to book for a relaxing, quality vacation. Wigwam will disappoint on so many levels. Firstly this is not a 4.5 star hotel as advertised, it's closer to a dated 3 star hotel. Wigwam is very superficial, their public areas, grounds and landscaping are of a very high standard, well maintained - expect to be woken daily by the sound of grass cutting before 7am. Their pool area is well designed, very clean and the team looking after you at the pool are fantastic. All good so far.... Then you get to your room, the thing you are paying for... Welcome to the past, late 1970's decor 3 star accommodation. The bathroom areas are appalling, wobbly wc's dated tiling, grotty carpets, excrement on the outdoor furniture, a kitchen area (if you've upgraded) with no fridge, no microwave, nothing not even a spoon. Air conditioning is so old and noisy it will wake you up every night more than once very night. We stayed here for 10 nights, I complained regularly but front desk staff not interested, I complained in their leaving feedback but no one interested. On day 5 the whole place turned into a construction site as they closed areas around the pool to repair stair treads on the bridge over the pool and the kids slide and install new palm trees. They should spend their money improving the rooms, until they do please listen to my advice and do not waste your money staying here - try somewhere else
“Beautiful, peacefull spot .”
The resort was great. Big rooms, beautiful landscape, lots of green area to walk , great pools. Several dining options. My cons are; staff not very friendly, (barly say hi), bathrooms needs to be redone, rooms need fridge. Few negatives, but I will definetely come back!
“Best place to stay in West Phoenix suburbs.”
Good hotel and nice staff. All staff were friendly and helpful - especially the restauraunt staff. Room was cleaned well and roomy. The pool is fantastic. Only complaint is that A/C is extremely noisy and this woke me up once. But seeing as it was 95+ outside during our stay I'm happy there was some heavy duty HVAC available. Additional $$$ per day room "Service" charge was kind of ridiculous - beware of hidden fees....
“Loved Wigwam! Loved the staff.”
Great place: clean, neat, friendly, beautiful!!!
