“Overall, I'd say a 3.5. Room and staff were great. Gym could use some work.”
The hotel was nice. I don't like the fact that they charge for parking, but didn't mind since I didn't have a vehicle and was using a relatives to get around. The gym could use some work. The equipment was a little outdated and the eliptical machines were missing the heart rate monitor attachments. There could be more ventilation as well. It was a bit stuffy when multiple people were in there working out. The room itself was nice. The only complaint I have is (and this goes for many hotels) with the cooling system. It's quite loud when it turns on and seems to do this at least 4-5 times an hour. It can also dry a person's sinus's over the course of a night, especially if you are not used to the dry air climate. The pool was great. We spent time poolside with family the first night, swam the next day and was also very happy to know the pool is salt water and chlorine treated. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful with every question asked. The only complaint about service I have is that it took at least 3-4 times for us to go in and ask that the misters be turned on around the pool where we were sitting on the first night. Please understand I'm being extremely detailed here and must say that I would definitely go back here if given the chance. The location is great and there is plenty to do whether in the 100+ degree heat of summer or the beautiful 75+ degree winter.
“Wouldn't stay there again - not up to Hilton standards”
The hotel hasn't been renovated recently and when they did the last one, they did it cheaply. The furniture and decor was a mix/match of styles and types. There was peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and the overall look of the entire room was dated. The air conditioner was the old "below the window" style and was extremely noisy. I read in the reviews, before I booked, that it was noisy but since I'm a sound sleeper, I didn't think it would matter. Unfortunately the unit in our room was extremely loud and constantly kicked on and off because it couldn't keep up with the heat. And the bed was so uncomfortable that I had a stiff/sore neck the whole time I was there. We stayed for three nights (we had two reservations due to a change in our original plans - one for 2 nights & one for 1 night). On the second night of our stay, they slipped the check out sheet under the door. I called the front desk and they assured me they were aware and there was nothing to worry about (same thing they told me when I checked in). But sure enough, when we got in late that night, we were locked out of our room. I had to go to the front desk TWICE to straighten it out because even the replacement keys they provided didn't work. This place was not worth the price and clearly was not up to Hilton standards. I stayed at a Hilton Gardens in Chicago just last month and the place was great. This hotel is in dire need of some serious TLC.
“Great for my first vist”
People thier were very nice and helpful
“Close to Old Town”
It is close to Old Town which is one block away. I had a problem with my room type, but The night clerk, Bobby, took very good care of me. There were never any free cookies when we went down to the front desk during our 3 day stay. So one night Bobby sent some up and he gave us some coupons for breafast.
“Scottsdale”
Very pleased with the hotel, the room, and the location. Would definitely return here for a future trip.
“small rooms, disappointing food”
My husband and I were scheduled to stay one night in Scottsdale, however he had to calncel so I went alone. Good thing; the room was tiny. Two beds took up just about all the space, with two of us there it would have been very claustrophobic feeling. I ordered a fruit plate and a shrimp cocktail for diinner from room servce, I was told the shrimp were "jumbo shrimp". The shrimp were small cocktail size shrimp, the fruit was mostly under ripe except for the pineapple. A disappointment to be sure and not what I expect from Hilton. Went to pull toilet paper off the roll and the whole holder fell onto the floor. The pay perview movie kept cutting out every 5 or 6 minutes, they did take it off my bill and give me a free breakfast which I did not use. Disappointing to be sure. I would definitely NOT stay there again.
“Great Location”
The only complaint I have with this hotel is that is is tired. We were shocked at the comforter on the bed; the fill was so lumpy it looked like an egg crate. Fortunately it wasn't cold enough to actually need the comforter, so ti wasn't a problem. The paint in the bathroom was very poorly done. But overall the hotel was fine; the breakfast included with our Expedia rate, was fantastic, and the location was perfect, being a block away from Old Town Scottsdale and plenty of restaurants and shops.
“Great stay for the price”
This hotel is located in a business area, there isn't much around. There is a Firdays that is very close by for you to grab a bite to eat. Clean, good size room. Great place for the buck!
