“Great value”

Excellent hotel . Large suites , spotlessly clean , good pool with lots of shade and close to many restaurants and shops . I really couldn't find fault with this place . We began and ended a 3 week trip here . Our first short stay was in one of the original suites and we ended in one of the newly renovated suites . Both were terrific . We stayed in much more expensive places that had a great deal less to offer . The morning breakfast and evening snacks were very good and the staff friendly and helpful . Will definitely stay again when we're next in Scottsdale .

“Great if there was an elevator!!”

This hotel is very nice and clean, and the neighborhood looks high class, but I didn't know that I'd be on the second floor without an elevator. So if you want to go there be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor, and try not to miss the nice breakfast complimentary buffet.

“Great Location in Scottsdale”

Hotel was clean and well managed. Manager was on site and interacting with guests every day. Although there was remodeling going on (as it is "monsoon" slow season in the valley) they were careful not to use loud equipment too early or late. We were in the area to move our son into a new apartment and get him set for school. The manager gave us one of the microwaves from the rooms they were remodeling; and wouldn't take any money for it. Much appreciated as our expenses were quite high for the trip. Location is perfectly in the middle of Scottsdale, close to Fashion Square Mall, Old Town and the 5th Ave shopping district. More good restaurants and bars than you could ever see within a mile or 2. Some favorite places are 5th & Wine, The Herb Box, Cowboy Ciao, FnB and the Mission. In cooler (under 100)weather you could walk to them all :) Hotel has a nice pool, good business center and an awesome free hot breakfast every day. Can't wait to stay again.

Area recommendations

Fashion Square; best and biggest mall in the state of Arizona 5th Ave shops area; best restaurants. Must try 5th and Wine, great wine selection by the glass. Became our hand out place while only there for 7 days :) They have an awesome happy hour from 3-6 with every wine by the glass for $5 Old Town for the charm and fun atmoshpere. Art District for sooo many galleries of every type.

Getting around

So easy to get around the valley once you get familiar with the set-up. Everything is on a grid. Just pay attention to the address number and whether it is north-south/ or east-west. All the green street signs at every intersection have a number as to where you are north/south or east/west. Almost every main street is 5 lanes wide; 2 each way and a turn lane in the middle. Be sure you recognize the name changes on main roads as they cross (under/over) the 202 freeway. Rural Rd becomes Scottsdale Rd, McClintock becomes Hayden Rd; etc. The freeway system is equally easy and saves alot of time over the side streets.

“Well situated a couple blocks off Scottsdale Road, easy access, lots to see & do”

Great value added items such as complementary breakfast (although hot items were pretty much the same every day) and weekday evening social hour. Pool area very inviting, well stocked with chairs and towels. Suites are fairly well outfitted with utensils and dishes so an extended stay here would be doable. Only drawback would be to have your room on the third floor - all outside steps and no elevators. Rooms automatically lock down shortly before noon on checkout day so your key won't work - found that out the hard way, although staff was good about rekeying - twice! (except they never did work, had to flag down a housekeeper who opened the door for us no questions asked - which, while it was appreciated, was very unsecure!)

“Just okay”

According to Front Lobby Desk... this hotel is scheduled to be under major renovation... Hopefully inside of rooms will be updated as well.

Area recommendations

Although this is a popular upscale area of Phoenix, there was no life among the shops and restaurants in the surrounding block.

“Loved it!!”

Went for a family easter trip with my husband and brother. The location is great! near old town & shopping district. Happy hour and the breakfast were an added bonus!!! Our hotel room was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and it was clean. Our toilet flooded and they staff were there within minutes and fixed it. everyone else we met around the pool and at happy hour were just as pleased as us.
