The Saguaro is conveniently located to all that Old Town Scottsdale has to offer - restaurants, the Performing Arts Center, art galleries, shopping malls - and everything is in walking distance. The restaurant on site is convenient and lives up to its gourmet advertisement.
The decor reminded me of the 1970s with some European influence. It was colorful and artsy, which may or not be your taste, but made it feel unique rather than ordinary as you would find at a chain hotel. Our room was clean and very comfortable. It was a pleasure to come back to the room after a hot day in the sun.
There are two pools. One is more lively and even had music playing on the weekends which made it feel like a party atmosphere. The other is designated as the "calm" pool for those who wish to relax in a quieter setting. There were plenty of lounge chairs available as well as pool towels provided and pool side refreshment service available.
Overall, I would highly recommend staying at the Saguaro if you want a combination of convenience, value and comfort.

SCOTTSDALE IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR ART, SHOPPING AND NIGHTLIFE IN THE VALLEY OF THE SUN. NOW THERE iS A HOTEL CREATING EVEN …More
We wanted an upscale place without golf or over-emphasis on spa. The location is convenient with a fantastic view of Camelback Mountain. It has many good dining choices, good food, good drinks, and good service. The Spanish motif was beautifully done. The amenities make it a great value (versus other resorts at twice the price).
This is a wonderful hotel. I had no idea that it was an historic hotel and really appreciated the layout, the gardens, and excellent service by the staff. Whenever we asked a staff person directions around the hotel, they immediately offered to show us the way. T. Cook's is an amazing restaurant with terrific food. We also liked that the resort fees included all tips for housekeeping and bell service. It is truly a relaxing environment with a nice pool and exercise room.
A different kind of hotel where the lobby is a separate building from the rooms. Security features are excellent where you can only open the building doors to the rooms with your room key. Vending machines everywhere and very convenient. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The room is very clean and climate control works very well. Wifi can be a bit slow but thats normal and still worked fine. Overall a very pleasant experience, especially for the rate.
