“Not a bad spot.”
Not a bad spot to stay. Large rooms, though they can be located some distance from the elevators. WiFi not available and in a chain as large as the Sheraton, that's just not good enough in this day and age. 5 PCs available in foyer. Tea and coffee facilities in room only had a powdered milk....horrible stuff and when I asked for some 'real' milk, housekeeping called to let me know the cost, which was outrageous, so I declined. A knock at the door a few minutes later and housekeeping brought me a fresh glass of milk at no charge. It was very much appreciated, though not sure if management would have known/been happy about it. The Starbucks in the foyer could do a roaring trade if the had been open later - they closed around 4pm. New restaurant was lovely.
“Great location for all the historic sites!”
Hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk to a majority of the sites we wanted to see. The neighborhood was safe with lots of near by restaurants, bars, & shops to visit.
“Great Hotel-Location, Location”
Our stay at the Sheraton was wonderful. The hotel has been nicely redecorated and the lobby and adjoining rooms are great spaces to meet up with other people as we did. Rooms were clean and comfortable with ample space for our family of four. The atrium top pool area is really one of the nicest I've seen at this level hotel. If you are into a little fitness on your trip their fitness center was wonderful. Various top level cardio equipment, wet towels in a refrigerator, exercise balls, bands, free weights. It was a busy place for a reason! The bar area was very modern and busy with a great small plate menu. If none of that were enough the location for touring the Independence Hall Park was perfect. You literally walk out the door and within a block you are there. The concierge was very helpful setting up tours and guiding us. This was a wonderful experience!!
“Alot of money for parking”
Nice hotel .... high fee for parking over $73.00 for 2 days of parking in addition to the cost of the hotel. Wasn't expecting that much!
“One of the Best!”
Fantastic stay-clean rooms and friendly service-absolutely recommended!!
“Society Hill Sheraton Management is Unhelpful”
After a day walking around in Philadelphia in late June we returned to find that the hotel had NO air conditioning. All the management did was talk in circles when we asked to at a minimum get a partial refund on our room. They kept on saying that the air would come on at some point in the night, and it did 4 hours after we retrned to our room, but their resposne was unacceptable for a Sheraton.
“Nice Stay in Society Hill”
Nicely appointed hotel in the heart of Society Hill. The location is very convenient and close to many restaurants and clubs. We had tickets to a concert at the Camden Waterfront. The ferry was a couple blocks away and easy to use. I would definitely stay here again.
“The ONLY perk is location”
When planning our first trip to Philly, we had been tipped off that parking was hard to come by and expensive, so we opted to stay downtown near the historic district. Unfortunately, the location is the only redeeming quality of this hotel. It is in major need of renovations, which they were continuously working on during our stay. We paid over $30 a day to valet our car and had to wait over 20 mins to have it brought out of parking for us to drive anywhere. Our bathroom was damaged, with two large cracks in the sink and caulking missing throughout the shower (there was even a random hair on the wall in the shower that hadn't been cleaned). While the decor was dated, the beds and linens were very comfortable. We had requested a crib and when we called to ask for it (as it was not in the room) we waited 45 minutes for it to be delivered. You are only getting a great location which is fantastic if you don't plan on spending anytime in your room. Will definitely be booking elsewhere on our next visit.
“Good place to stay”
We arrived at the hotel to find the lobby under construction and the restaurant was onl a handful of tables next to the lobby's Starbucks. There was no concierge on duty for the weekend, though at least the deck staff were helpful. Also the hallways were COLD - we needed a sweater to walk to the vending machines though it was beautiful outside. The location was perfect for most of the primary sight seeing we wanted to do
“very impressed”
Choose the Hotel because I had always admired the location & the closeness of it to Old City. It was a very enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend it for individuals planning an event or celebrating a special occasion as my wife & I were (1st wedding anniversary)
