“Nice small hotel near historic district downtown”
This is a nice, small hotel (or large B&B) in an historic building right downtown. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. It is an old building though so the doors creak and the walls are thin. My only complaint is the breakfast in the morning was a little too simple. Raisin Bran, some pastries and toast that were not so special, some coffee and juice. That said, it is a nice place a very welcome break in the typical, large business hotel in downtown. Give it a try. It is also reasonably priced vs. its competitors.
“Morris House Hotel”
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough. We were treated very well - very personal experience.
“Found our new "usual" Philadelphia hotel”
Beautiful historic building, friendly and helpful staff and great location. One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Philly.
“Very nice accomodations”
Was suprised to find this hotel. Great location and surrounding
“Not what I expected”
It was just not what was shown in the brochure or the website. The hotel is in a great location but it was just not what I expected after looking at the pictures on the website and brochure. There was also a huge wet stain that smelled of clorox in the middle of the room. Also, if you have a lot of luggage and have a room on the third floor, good luck with that.
“Lovely, gracious”
Cozy, charming, period building with period furnishings. Warm and comfortable. Quiet. Good cookies. Second floor room has a noisy heater. One shade needs to be replaced. Third floor room needs window shades.
“Very nice hotel, great location”
The hotel is lovely. Our room was bigger than I expected and was very pretty. The bed could have been a little firmer and the continental breakfasts were so-so, but overall our stay was great. The hotel restaurant was very good; the staff at both hotel and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and would go back.
“Amazing!”
The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very helpful. Only got to stay one night, but I would gladly stay again.
“We would return”
The building was well maintained, rooms were comfortable and the conceirges were very helpful and accommadating. It is a beautiful historic building.
“#1 Reason to go back to Philly!”
From the instant of our arrival, The Morris House Hotel was everything we could have hoped for with our short stay in Philly. Five star comfort & quality of furnishings both in room and common areas. We were greeeted and checked in with exceptional promptness & thoroughness regarding the Hotel and local area. Continental breakfast was top notch as was afternoon tea! Conveniently located in the heart of Philly and within walking distance of all major tourist attractions. The M restaurant right next door was the perfect spot for afternoon Bloody Mary's which we took to the courtyard/patio that connected both buildings. The bartender suggested a Wine and Cheese bar, Tria, several blocks away which we also patroned and could not have kicked off a Red Sox vs Phillies game any better if we tried! Felt very secure with the "after 9pm" guest key. Room was very quiet, elegantly appointed and complimentary dark chocolate squares and small water bottles hit the spot after a day of walking about the City. Would not change a thing! Cannot wait to make the Morris House Hotel a permanent stop off when planning future trips.
