“Great location and a hotel w/ personality!”
This hotel is in a great location - right across the street from City Hall and Reading Terminal, Macy's. I LOVED the 24 hr gym and the business center which is in a cozy atrium. The hotel had real personality to it - more like a guest house.. I definitely recommend.
“Disappointing”
This was my first stay at Le Meridien. The staff was very pleasant, but the room was small and dysfunctional (examples: the bathroom layout included a toilet paper holder installed only a foot above the floor; the room included two chairs but these were mismatched in height, one short and one bar-height... making conversations and interactions uncomfortable; and the armoire door when opened blocks both the bathroom access and the room door). Overall the room was probably fine for one person, but not well planned or large enough to be comforable for a couple. The food in the restaurant was delicious, though the menu is limited and pricey. Room service food was not cooked properly. A registered complaint about a hamburger that was delivered half-raw did not get the expected response of an offer to compensate and the inedible meal went unaddressed by the hotel. The other disappointment was with the housekeeping staff. The hotel has an excellent green program (deferral of housekeeping service) allowing patrons to earn points or money that can be used in the restaurant. However, on the days when housekeeping staff was used, they did not replenish the depleted personal cleanliness supplies needed and these had to be requested separately. The valet service was excellent, though expensive.
“Great hotel.”
Everything about the hotel was great! The rooms were quiet, the beds comfortable and the concierge was very helpful. The hotel was beautiful and modern. I will surely return and reccomed!
“Philly Surprise”
We just got back from a two night stay at the Le Meridien. Beautiful hotel. The lobby decor was a bit too modern for my liking but the room was very comfortable. Great bed and large bathroom. The surrounding area was safe enough but there were a number of people asking for money. Otherwise, City Hall and the Reading Terminal are just a block away. We would be happy to return to Le Meridien when next in Philadelphia.
“Groovy - a bit too, but that's OK”
We got a great deal on Expedia for this hotel. We were in town visiting family, and the hotels by the airport were actually more expensive and we'd rather stay downtown anyway. This was close to the Thanksgiving parade route, and we'd still be able to get to the dinner location in plenty of time. So the hotel is very nice - a couple of great points, unbeknownst to us, they gave us a room with a fantastic view of the parade, so we waited until the temps warmed up but we didn't miss anything. Great location. Very comfortable, clean rooms. Fantastic little restaurant for breakfast. Bad points - having to pay $11 for internet access, very slow valet car service for $40, and a confusing lobby - you walk right into the bar, and we had no idea if we were in the right place when we checked in. Also, the TV is on the side of the room, and there's one chair - so if you sit on the bed, you can't sit back and watch TV, you have to turn 90 degrees to the left. But the best selection of channels I've ever seen for a hotel TV set up.
“Great Hotel, not a great service”
The rooms are big, new, clean, it is very well located, the staff are nice. The thing is, as it is one of those "in"-hotels, where people go to have a drink and hang around, the service is not as good as a "hotel-hotel" (but, you can't hear the noise from your room) Over all I do recommend it!
“Not in a very nice neighborhood”
The hotel decor is too minimal for me. It is nice and clean and the room is very spacious. However, the room service breakfast is too expensive. They overcharged me $7 and when I call them, they said they were gonna send someone to my room to look at the receipt. I waited 1 hour and they did not show up so it was time for me to check out and I told the front desk about the problem. The front desk agent then made me wait in the lobby for about 20 minutes so she can run to the room service department to find out, after returning she still can not figure out how to fix the statement then another front desk clerk volunteered to correct it. All together it took 30 minutes for a credit of $7 on my statement. I would probably not stay there again for the kind of price they are charging. There are too many choices around the area, The Westin is a much better place to stay.
“One step from Conv center in Philly”
Wonderful interior design, amazing bed - I was sleeping as a child, like never before
“My preferred hotel in Philly”
When I checked into the hotel, I was greeted by a few guys from valet. One opened my door while the other asked if I needed help with the bags in my trunk. I was given proper instructions on where to go to check in. Upon arriving at front desk, I was greeted by a beautiful girl with a very nice blue engagement ring. She was pleasant and the check-in was quick. The space in my room was great compared to hotel rooms in Manhattan. I was waiting for my friend to arrive and had a drink at their lobby bar. Again, the bartender was really nice and attentive. When we checked out, we received the same service from valet. All in all, it was a fantastic stay and I intend on staying here the next time I'm in town.
“Nice new spot”
Jazzy contemporary spot with confortable rooms
