"Great location, right in the centre of Montpellier"
The staff were extremely helpful, calling taxis, giving advice, and even finding a phone charger for us!
The room was great: clean, neat and the bed was very comfortable.
This was ideal for our short stay but would be happy to stay there for longer.
"Well located hotel, acceptable quality, good staff"
The staff were friendly and helpful. Most didn't speak English so don't stay here unless your French is good enough to communicate clearly. The room was fairly good, with a TV with a few channels, comfortable beds, a shower and a very pleasant balcony with an excellent view over the street. The location is by far the hotel's best point, being very close to the Comedie square and the rail station. The free wifi was useful, although obtaining the password was a challenge. The main negative point was the lack of any information cards or similar in the room.
The hotel is close to the main railway line, just off main drag. Street relatively quiet. Easy to find. Restaurants and shops very close by. Trams to burbs and beach close at hand. This hotel is a deal. It is relatively cheap for such a high quality, rather old and grand establishment. Staff extremely helpful. This has to be one of the best hotels that I have stayed in for the money that I paid. I have no hesitation in recommending about staying here.
We were not expecting much after looking at reviews of hotels near the station in Montpelier, but were pleasantly surprised by the Mistral.
We wanted somewhere we could walk to with luggage from the TGV station and where we could walk to the centre easily. It fulfilled these requirements.
In addition we found our room clean, reasonably sized and well appointed. We did have one of the superior rooms, no 1 on the ground floor. Not sure about the cheaper ones.
Breakfact was usual French fare, but reasonably priced.
Staff friendly and helpful which is not always the case in France.
No air conditioning and if you have problems sleeping, leaving the windows open does let in the noise of occasional traffic (area is almost car free), but we slept fine.
Excellent value for money for a city centre hotel for a short sightseeing visit.
Great stay! Perfect location (right at the city centre), nice staff, comfortable, modern, clean rooms, delicious breakfast included. Superior quality from other Ibis hotels. They also have options of two single bed rooms (bonus for those travelling with family or friends). Strongly recommend it.
