“Extremely Comfortable Stay”

We felt very comfortable at the Fortuna Hotel as soon as we set foot in the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is lovely, bright and individually decorated rooms. Ours had wonderful panoramic views from three aspects across Perugia. The breakfast included a tasty selection of cereals fruits cheeses an meats and fresh bread. The location of the hotel is perfect, as you can walk out and you are in the centre of town, and just a few doors along from the most wonderful gelateria at No 3 Via de Bonazzi. We would definitely choose to stay there again.

“great location”

Plus: Fortuna Hotel Perugia is very well, centrally located in the old part of town. Minus: If you try to reach the hotel by car, please be aware that if you insert the address of the hotel in the GPS (TomTom), it will take you close to the hotel, but you won’t be able to access the hotel. Hence, you have to start all over again and leave the old centre! This was apparently known to the hotel reception, but they did not mention it despite my inquiry about reaching the hotel by car! Overall: The room was okay, the location is great, and the breakfast was above Italian standards. The attentiveness and services rendered by the receptionist needs significant improvement!

“very pleased”

This is a lovely hotel, and I was very pleased. I had no view except an airshaft, but then I was not promised one, and the price was so reasonable that I can have no complaint. The breakfast and the breakfast room were a delgiht. The staff was charming. The location is great.

Area recommendations
Saty in the center, or at least the old part of town on top of the hill. You can walk to everything. The train station is a bit of a hike, but then its a hilltop town, which is the charm of it.

“Charming , friendly hotel! Great location!!!”

We visited five cities in Italy and Hotel Fortuna was tied with another hotel in Venice as our favorite hotel in Italy.The staff was wonderful and friendly. Extremely helpful. Our son was a student in Perugia for four months and they let us store his luggage for a week while we toured Italy. Perfect location. In the center of the old historical city of Perugia. Warm and charming hotel. The breakfast was great. We will stay here again if we return to Perugia. Wonderful experience!

Getting there
If you are coming from the Rome airport take to bus. It is relaxing and brings you right to the main bus station below the historical section of the city of Perugia.

“"can't wait to return"”

Fortuna Hotel is a lovely place to stay in a great location. Close to 2 restaurants that were very tasty. Several nice shops for clothing, shoes and chocolate! An easy town to walk in and to take side trips from to other near by towns.

Area recommendations
The historical center is easy to walk in and get a feeling for Purugia. We felt perfectly safe.
When to go
We were there in December for my birthday so it was fun to see Christmas Italian style. It is known for Jazz so next time we would go during that time.
