Great hotel in the Perth CBD

Posted 23-Feb-2015
Pros: The staff and the access to the club lounge on the 16th floor
Cons: We had issues with our swipe cards for access to the upper levels of the hotels as did a number of other patrons. The staff where quick to help.
Location: Very close to the convention center where our function was held. Close to His Majesty's Theater and other city attractions.
We had a fantastic night staying in the CBD for a work function. As it was a special night we stayed in the executive king suite and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The staff were attentive and friendly and the entire experience was lovely.

Disappointing this time around

Posted 03-Feb-2015
Pros: This time around, the exit
Cons: Mid week canapes, staff to consider ALL guests, breakfast has slacked off
Location: Plenty to do in Perth, we are local
We have stayed at Rydges Perth on many occasions as a break from the kids and alway book the club room. Our obvious mistake was booking on a weekday for a change. We headed down for canapes and drinks at 5:30pm and were offered poorly cut cold meat and stale crackers and cheese. In comes a guy who decides to use the club drinks area as his personal office and starts a headhunting session on his mobile at the top of his voice with total disregard for the other people there, rather than the staff member politely ask him to keep it down, she tip toes around him and lets him help himself to his own beers. Breakfast the next day was average also, time to look for another hotel to stay in.

Rydges in Perth

Posted 02-Feb-2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable beds.
Cons: The price of valet parking is exorbitant.
Location: Very central to Hay Street Mall and other attractions.
I didn't realise that I would have to pay $38/night for valet parking. If so, I would have stayed a bit further out of the city. No pool or balcony but room was comfortable overall. Nice restaurant/bar downstairs.

Ideal Location

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Don't promise things that you have no intention or ability to deliver.
Location: Close to shopping and river attractions etc
The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful ,however I paid $25 per night for an upgrade and requested a room with a view ,however ,on both sides with a window I was looking at the backs of buildings which actually overshadowed the hotel, had I known this I would have selected one of the other options and saved the $25 per night. I also thought the $38 per day for valet parking was over the top. Two days in a row we went out in the morning only to return at the end of the day to find our suite door ajar, luckily though nothing was stolen. We also had to report that some drinks in the mini bar had been opened when we arrived so they obviously don't pay much attention to this aspect of the business.
