Beautiful surroundings, excellent customer care , spa treatments were great , staff there amazing also and food was amazing. Had a lovely weekend with my 2 daughters , just the relaxing time out we all needed.

Just ok.
Very small room. Clean and fresh but too small for the kingsize bed, it took up most of the room. Cooked breakfast was luke warm. Been made for a while but not kept warm enough. No brown bread, only white bread for toast. Overpriced for what we got.

Really nice hotel. Had a lovely night stay, the member of staff on check in was informative and helpful. Shame one member of staff was a little unhelpful when we asked about getting something to take out for breakfast.

We walked from the train station, could not get a cab or a ride from the Hotel. Cabs in this town should be prebooked. Quite a walk luckily we travel light. We wanted to get transportation via cab, bus, private driver to Blair Atholl castle but the very nice front desk gentleman couldnt help us at all. Basically, sorry, good luck, maybe someone in town can help. The Hotel itself is very dated in decor. We visited the museum in the basement and after reading the storied history and financial difficulties this Hotel has had it made sense. The museum was interesting but not well kept and we felt as if no one from the Hotel straightens, swept floors or dusted down there. Our room was clean enough but such a hodgepodge of decor. Large tour buses full of guests keep this place afloat. The grand exterior does not reflect the inside or service you'd expect. We enjoyed walking through the town, across the suspended bridge, and having a drink on the gorgeous river near the fish ladder. The gentlemen at the train station was the most helpful person and we were able to have a lovely visit at Blair Atholl the following day on our way to Inverness.

While this was a beautiful building and setting, much of the hotel needed refurbishing. Rooms were clean & well appointed but somewhat chilly, and the towel rail and radiators were switched so we couldn’t dry our towels. The spa was being refurbished but this was not indicated in the details when I booked. The swimming pool was lovely however. Reception & cleaning staff were polite & helpful but some of the senior restaurant staff were snappy & seemed stressed. The food itself was tasty but somewhat expensive and there were lots of hidden extras on the bill.

This is a wonderful hotel built in 1878 and retaining all its charm. The staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. The room we had was large with a great view of the hills. The breakfasts were of the help yourself type and you could select from a huge range of items. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return!

Stunning location; the Lavendar Spa was excellent and luckily we were there just before they are about to close for maintenance (which actually seems a bit odd as would be just after Easter 2023). Lunch service was a little slow and odd, but dinner and breakfast were excellent. The reception staff were under par for my liking, for a 4 star property, did expect a better standard. Felt to their lack of service I was informed on checkout that there were no charges to my card, to find a charge over 1 hour after checkout that I didn't authorise. We had a twin room, nice and clean room, excellent bathroom. Was very warm wherever you were in the hotel, sometimes too warm. Due to our short visit didn't explore the grounds or nearby Pitlochry, but fairly local so can visit another time.

Beautiful hotel (in need of modernisation)
We arrived at 1pm and check in wasn’t til 3pm. They stored our bags for us but didn’t offer anything further. The building and the grounds are beautiful, although the decor could use an upgrade. It’s very old fashioned and a little tired looking. There’s a lovely swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The sauna was closed and the spa was also closed (it was Monday). The food was ok but lacked some imagination. It’s pretty much what you’d get served in a gastro pub. I was expecting a little more from a hotel that’s charging £190 per night for a room.

Atholl Palace - Perthshire gem.
Fantastic hotel, bright and airy and very welcoming staff. Conveniently located near the centre of Pitlochry. The quality of food and standard of catering in the restaurant was outstanding, and offered ample delicious vegetarian options. There is also fantastic spa and swimming pool facilities. Difficult to fault this hotel.

Would visit again
The location is beautiful, as is the building. Beds were comfortable, linen was good quality, and service was exceptional. There were two negative points - I found it very cold overnight, and provided the hotel with feedback that perhaps an extra blanket could be stored in the room as there was only a quilt on the bed. The other negative was due to the WiFi network limitations we were unable to use the television as there wasn't enough bandwidth to support it and we spent time watching a 'buffering' circle in the middle of the screen. Aside from these two things, this is definitely an excellent hotel to stay at and I would visit again.
