“A great weekend trip to Bergerac!”

We went to Bergerac to celebrate our daughter's 13th birthday. We were there for 2 1/2 days and that was perfect. We managed to do it without a hire car and instead used taxis and, for 1 day, hired bikes, which was a lot cheaper! There is plenty to do for all ages, and with a little more mobility, there were theme parks etc that we could have visited easily. Our hotel was 'cheap and cheerful' with very friendly and helpful staff - the hotel is being updated and some room were obviously more modern than others. The tourist info office in Bergerac is amazing - very helpful.

Area recommendations
The city is compact and easy to see in a weekend. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with Chateaux aplenty and lots to do. We hired bikes and cycled to Monbazillac to visit the Chateau and vineyard which was a great day out. There are plenty of restaurants in the old town, some of which are expensive, but there were plenty of set-menu deals.
