Clean room, complimentary breakfast on time, good coffee, good selection. Staff helpful and friendly.

“Nice Peoria hotel”

Residence Inn might be a bit hard to find without a GPS, but ours gave perfect instructions on how to turn into the shopping mall and drive out the other side to find the access road tot he hotel. Even though it is right near a major expressway interchange, the hotel room was quiet. It was a comfortable stay, room had all the basics and then some. Breakfast room buffet was nicer than many other family hotels we've stayed in, including scrambled eggs and one other hot entree every day. We would definately come back.

Area recommendations

Peoria waterfront is nice, with horsedrawn carriages and a restaurant / lounge inhabiting the city's old train station. Illinois River is especially wide next to downtown. Daytime riverboat excurstions are a top family activity. Also recommend the Tower in Peoria Heights for a spectacular panorama of the river and treetops of surrounding neighborhoods -- like viewing a giant field of green salad.

Shopping

FAmilies wishing to shop for natural groceries may investigate the NAturally Yours grocery, at the far end of the Metro Center shops on N University (near War Memorial Dr). Farmers market are also also in this area on Saturday AMs during summer months.

“Peoria Residence Inn”

A little bit worn in a few corners, but overall, it was a clean and comfortable stay. The worst thing was trying to find it as the street address is not actually how you get to the property. You have to go through a mall parking lot and take a narrow alleyway to get back to the site of three similar hotels.
