“Great location, accommodating front desk personels. Will recommend to others.”
Love the location, the hotel has a view of the sea, beautiful from your room, but you cannot walk on the beach. Food and shopping is right at the back of the hotel.
“Too expensive for what you get”
A standard room at the G Hotel is fine, but it is not worth what I paid for it. The decor in the room is not the modern sleekness I expected from the description, the chair in the room had cigarette burns, there's a shower, but no bathtub,, breakfast was not included, and the room looks out onto another high rise building. Also, the location is a bit far from the center of town requiring a taxi ride that was quite annoying because twice the taxi driver didn't know where he was going. A highlight of the hotel is that it is right next to the mall so there are many food options outside the hotel that are better and cheaper than eating breakfast at the hotel. I wouldn't stay here again because it was way overpriced. If it cost $70/night I would stay there.
“will stay at this hotel again...convenient location/classy modern hotel”
While we enjoyed our stay there and were satisfied with the many amenities the classy hotel had to offer, including the nice breakfast buffet (included in the price), we had only one complaint: The lobby area was incredibly noisy with children running around, treating as if it was their living room at home. We were trying to enjoy our drinks and snacks at the lobby bar, at the far end of the lobby, but were constantly disturbed by loud screaming of these unruly kids - parents did not do anything to control them. We also spoke to folks at the front desk twice - they said they would do something - but did nothing. For a classy (great looking) hotel, this is unacceptable. The management should have done something about this.
“Superb location”
Perfect for business during the day and leisure at night. Local, seafood, and "expat" dining choices all within easy reach.

Great hotel. A little pricy (not compared to Europe but compared to the rest of Georgetown) but worth every penny. Spacious clean room in excellent taste. Splendid service. Pleasant bar. Restaurants may be great but dined out, and so should you. 10mins from Georgetown itself by taxi, cost about £3-£4. A little more to the sister hotel which has beach.
“Love the G”
Had a great stay at G - was upgraded to a Suite because the hotel was full. Met at reception with an cool icecream - nice treat on checkin! The suite was very very modern with a huge bathroom separate shower room and super glossy black tiles everywhere. Hotel is right next to one of the best shopping malls and hawker food areas. Great for daytime shopping and nightime munching! Nice view of the sea right on the seafront for late night wandering. The cultural district is about a 10 min. taxi ride away. Staff were very friendly and the Gym huge, well equipped and empty despite the hotel being full. Main lobby area with resident DJ and cocktail bar was a nice early evening place and the dark, late night bar had live jazz everynight we were there.
“Nice but too expensive”
I liked the place, but somehow I do not feel that the price difference to other hotels in the area is justified. G Hotel is slightly better than most places I know in Penang, but it is a lot more expensive.
