“impressive hotel”
All was very good.Prospective visitors should be aware that there are several steps to the pool/beach but the hotel description does declare this. The location is excellent if you only want a holiday all inclusive for the pool or beach as Glyfada is only a very small resort with nothing else but the beach.Food etc very good and great choice. It is worth paying the extra for the seaview room as the sunset is great.Would reccommend to anybody.
“Corfu,s top hotel”
Everything about the hotel was excellent, the staff were all friendly, available and helpful from the porter to the chef, the food was excellent and well presented, the hotel was spotless, the daytime activities were fun, most of the evening activities were good. the hotel lives up to its description in the brochure/internet.
“Great for just relaxing in the sunshine with plenty of good & drink”
This was the 5 day relaxation part of my trip (which included energetic tours of Athens & Venice) and was ideal for a solo traveller who just wanted to lie in the sun, forget about work and catch up on lots of reading
“Excellent hotel for peaceful break”
We were very impressed with this hotel and the location, but dont stay here if youre not looking for a relaxing break as the hotel is excluded from the rest of Corfu. Theres little within walking distance other than the hotel facilities. Theres a shop on site that sells cigarettes, snacks, souvenirs, etc., but some things are not cheap - 15 euros for used books. The hotel backs out to a bar and swimming pool that overlooks a beautiful quiet beach. Theres a wide range of local and European cuisine to suit all tastes and the quality is good. I was pleased that the inclusive beer was Lowenbrau and you could also get cocktails, the wine was OK but not great. The main bar has a really nice terrace that has great views of the sea. Rooms are spacious and clean and all have balconies, so its worth paying extra for a sea view. Staff are friendly and attentive. Free buses into Corfu run round about 9am and 1.30pm and take about 35 mins, but only 1 returns to the hotel at 1pm which is far too early, but taxis only costs 30 euros and theres a local bus that takes you quite near. Unfortunately, theres only 1 English channel on the TV - BBC World News, but there are 10 German channels, so probably a fight for sunbeds in the summer! We went in October and it was lovely and quiet, but there were still many guests, so its likely to be a lot busier and perhaps less tranquil in peak season.
“Great for a break”
For a short break this suited us perfectly. Everything was laid on - good (buffet style) food, a relaxed atmosphere, courteous staff, perfect beach location, very good sized pool and gardens. And (I am not being paid for this!), by booking with Expedia we took the 'all inclusive' package which was all that Expedia was offering which was only a few pounds more than the cost of half board direct with the hotel. So all drinks and lunch also included and 95% of people seemed to have booked on that basis so you would have felt left out without it! Bit concerned that this sort of package might have attracted a loutish sort but it didn't at all - young couples with small children often with grandparents in tow. The only downside (apart from entertainment some of which was very amateur) is that 5 days was probably about right. After that and with absolutely no reason to go farther afield (and very little locally), you could get a bit bored. But there we are, that's pleasure for you! Finally, some might say, that there was not in fact much Greek character here and I think that might be true. Something they might think about - but you could probably say the same for many other (pleasureable) places.
“1 night stay”
only stayed for 1 night Thought it was pretty good and would be happy to return. The setting and beach are great. Rooms were really clean, food absolutely fine. Few wasps - but that seems to be a coru wide problem
“my stay in Corfu, Greece”
The Hotel was fine. The A/C was not working in my room. When I called the front desk a gentleman that answered was not very interested in the issue and lyed just to get me off the phone. I was also not pleased with the quality and choices of the food .
“It is NOT a 4 star hotel !”
The day we arrived to the hotel was a shock for us as the room was very small with a smell of tobaco all over the place. We asked to be changed to a non-smoking room but there was no such policy in the hotel. So be very careful if you choose to stay there if you're a non smoker. We were told as well that the air conditioner was only available after mid June (!) but with some efforts we got it turn on for us. The food wasn't that great either as it was based more on quantity than quality - on that I guess that anyone carrying kids is a good value for money (lots of pizzas and burgers) but if you're fancy to try local dishes you will not get many there. Corfu is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't stay in that hotel if I would go back. The only good thing about the hotel is the beach but since it is not private so you could still enjoy it and stay in a different accommodation.
