Stevensons at Manse was an awesome holiday with our children 16, 15 and 12. We went for a beach sunset wedding and the service was out of this world. So SAD to have to come home. Stayed in a beach falae 5 metres from the water. Of course no airconditioning but coped without problem even though from Southland and snowed 2 days before trip. Beds were comfortable, mosquito nets adequate (take good repellent) meals were mouthwatering, especially the Oka. Two restaurants to choose from. Watch the crabs scurry about as you eat or eat under fans in the main restaurant. Brilliant snorkleing at the doorstep which we all did 2/3 times each day. Better than the snorkelling trip we paid for in fact. Showers quaint but excellent, did not need hot water. Rooms serviced each day if wanted. Amazing place and putting in a pool soon as well. Not sure why. Megan the hotel Manager couldn't have been more friendlier or helpful as were all the staff. Can't wait to go back.
We fell in love with this place. Staff very gracious and accommodating. We were made to feel like friends from the moment we arrived. Fantastic value for money. Don,t think the web photos do it justice. We hated leaving. Great weather. Absolutely recommend Vai Moana for a truly relaxing, memorable holiday.
We stayed at 4 places on Savaii and this was one of our favourite. The room above the water was stunning. We could hear the water lapping all night and in the morning could see fish swimming in the lagoon below. The staff are super friendly and considerate. They were thoughtful, helpful and attentive too. And then there was good food to top it off! we didn't expect that ! Breakfast was beautiful and the evening menu had quite a variety, the Oka was the best we tasted in Samoa. Will definitely stay there again.
We arrived at Apia airport to be greeted by Fatu, who drove us to Return to Pardise, when we arrived even though it was late they kept the bar open for us and Iosa made us a special cocktail. At the resort the staff made us feel so welcome and were very accommodating. We absolutely loved the Fia'fia night and it was a great chance to see some of the Samoan culture and taste the incredible food from the Return to Paradise. What sets Return to Paradise apart from the rest are the beautiful people working there and the incredible beach, which you can laze around on or even go in for a swim. It is the perfect place to switch off and forget about reality! We highly recommend this resort and we'll definitely try to get back to visit again. Please don't be put off by some of the earlier reviews, the resort was basically completely finished with only minor works still occurring, that you wouldn't even notice unless you went looking for them.
We stayed at The Orator from 20th September - 27th September and found it via Expedia.co.nz. We loved the look of it from the website especially the beautiful lush plants and trees which seemed to be in abundance. We were looking for a quiet location not too far from Apia with good accommodation, swimming pools and food. The Orator didn't disappoint in most if not all areas. The grounds were lovely, the rooms were very good for twins aged 12 and us (total 4 pax). We hired a Toyota harrier from Julianna's Rentals which made it easy travelling to all the fun spots including Savaii. The Orator service staff were always helpful and happy which made the stay even more pleasant. I would definitely recommend to family and friends for future stays.
Situated up in the hills, in need of an update, which it is getting somewhat. A badly needed new swimming pool was being built in front of our villa. Because we were the only guests (that we saw) they didn't bother switching on the filters on the old existing pool. So we didn't use it.
We ate lunch and dinner on the first day and the food was good.
We hired a car from reception which was very convenient. Reception didn't have any change available so we could pay the taxi when we arrived neither could the receptionist point out where on a map was the hotel situated. Nor did it have our bill ready when we checked out, nor did it remember to order our airport taxi when we left (even though it was written on the whiteboard behind them). Not impressed at all.
The villa was a bizarre design. A rectangle divided into 3 thirds. The two outer thirds held two double beds each and each had a front door onto a small outdoor fenced sitting area. The central third had a two seat settee, a L shaped kitchen island with three stools, a fridge and a hob and then a tiny shower room with toilet, vanity and shower.
The new swimming pool should look good though.
