“Great little hotel”

This is a great place to stay if you want no frills, and just a basic hotel near the freeway, gas station and restaurants in town.

“Shabby hotel that needs some updating”

The price of the room was excellent, but the room was shabby and in serious need of updating. It even had that old, musty smell. It was fairly clean and did have a nice porch to sit out on. It had a good location in town on one of the main highways. I would not return there as there are many other hotels in Payson.

“A Good, Family Friendly Hotel”

Though the hotel is older and shows some signs of age, it is clean and the setting is great. The pool was nicely set back away from the main road, and the water was clean. The continental breakfast was OK, but the room was nice being just next to the pool. I would definitely return with my family next time.

Area recommendations

Woods Canyon Recreational area is just 35 miles east and is a great place to hike and fish. It also offers some great views of the Rim.

“Have already recommended”

We had a great vacation. We used the pool, ate at the complimentary breakfast and enjoyed the back "porch". It was a perfect location for what we had planned, was quiet, and had every ammenity we needed.

“Nice Affordable Hotel/Inn Close To Everything”

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel recently and enjoyed escaping from the hell that is disgusting Phoenix. Very convenient and easy to find, it was very reasonable for the cost. We chose the bare-bones room with a king bed, very large king which was nice as I was short on funds. Upon checking in, the room was clean and well kept and nice. First night was very quiet and we had a good sleep. Upon the second night however, when we returned back to the room and the mail had supposedly turned it, we found the toilet still dirty, the floor not vacuumed, only one washcloth and the glass cups replaced with only plastic cups. Did it kill the experience, no not really since we were only there two nights. We left a feedback card for them, so hopefully they hire some maids that are just a bit better.

The Tonto Natural Bridge is a nice hike and Heber isn't too far away, which is pretty nice.

“Just an older motel”

For some reason, with all the 5 star reviews, I expected better. It's just a run down, shmushy bed, yellow painted room, motel. Nothing more. May want to ask for a downstairs room if you have a lot of stuff... no elevator.
