On my arrival (my husband was cycling from Warkworth) I was immediately offered a fresh scone with homemade jam and cream, and a pot of tea, in the beautiful garden. I then felt guilty because Maureen did it all again when my husband turned up. We had dinner at a very pleasant pub a short drive away then retired to our very comfortable room, where every detail had been thought of. Breakfast was delicious.
My wife and I have stayed in quite a few guest houses up and down the country and this one is definitely one we would return to without doubt, cannot find anything negative to say and we stayed their for 5 nights, rooms spotlessly clean including on sweet bathroom , the bar area is great good atmosphere good crack with the locals, Ian and Linda are really nice and friendly. The Breakfast and evening meals , well you cant fault them
My late, early evening, arrival was not a problem for the proprietor. The house had a homely feel and my room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well provisioned. The breakfast was excellent in a dining room that encouraged friendly conversation with proprietors and other guests. After check-out, my luggage was held until time for my late afternoon train.
This B&B had everything we could ask for, friendly greeting on arrival, spacious bedroom, wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice and Linda (owner) was able to give lots of information on the town of Berwick, the surrounding area and places to eat in the evening. The promenade at Spittal, just a minute walk from the B&B was so pretty, quiet and peaceful, an easy place to walk in the evening.
This was one of the best B&B that we have ever stayed in. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and cosy. The location is in the countryside is very quiet and peaceful. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable and great breakfasts. We were warmly welcomed by our host Angus to his residence and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
An old coaching inn with charm and character. Warm welcome from the friendly staff. Nice comfortable room. Good food and choice of menu. Not rushed in the morning to check out and given a choice of what time we wanted breakfast. A relaxing time - really enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful old house with tea room open to the public beautifully kept, room as good as an equivalent * hotel with attention paid to little details. Great home cooked Breakfast, staff welcoming. A great little find in a beautiful peaceful village location - would definitely stay there again.
