“De-stress vacation”

Only complaint would be noise level from adjacent "entertainment" street. Otherwise a quality room for the price.

Area recommendations

All areas of Pattaya are full of sights that can enhance your vacation experience. It depends on your wants or desires. However, shopping/dining were our main interest (along with golf) so any area with restaurants/shopping is an experience that will never be forgotten.

“Nice hotel but I will not return due to noise.”

The Discovery Beach Hotel was very nice and had an excellent breakfast buffet and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Our only problem was the noise at night. We had reserved an ocean view room which did provide a good view of the ocean. The biggest problem was that this hotel was close enough to the next pedestrian/vehicle street where there were bar after bar lined with prostitutes resulting in nightly noise of yelling, music and singing by those who had too much to drink until the early hours of the morning. Even with the sliding glass door shut and the drapes drawn the sound came up to our 7th floor hotel room. If it wasn't for the next street over I would definitely come back to this hotel for it was good value for the money.

“Pattaya...”

The hotel was clean and centrally located. You can easily get to walking street in only 5 minutes on the baht bus. It overlooks soi 6, which for me was a little too loud at night. I heard the hotel charges for guest, but I did not have an issue. Overall the hotel was nice, but I probably will not stay again due to the price. the beach is across the street from the beach and I feel, very overpriced.

“Big changes for the worse”

Seems like this hotel is under new management. The front desk staff were demeaning. I won't stay there again. It is a shame.

Getting around

one can rent a scooter for approximately $5 US dollars a day. the baht bus is also an excellent way to get to walking street and back

“Pattaya Discovery Beach Hotel was a nice surprise!”

A nice 3.5 star hotel with a nice pool, friendly staff, clean rooms that are a decent size and a decent buffet breakfast.

Area recommendations

If you are staying in Pattaya Beach then this hotel is in a very good central location with many shops and places to eat. The only down side is that this location is on a side street with many "Ladyboy" Bars across the street from the front door. The Ladyboys or Katoey's (Thai word) can be quite agressive and annoying when you walk past them. Other than that there are no complaints.

“Great Service”

Very friendly staff, handmade omelets in the morning, close to the beach. Catch a Baht Bus on the facing street and go anywhere practically.

“Will go there again !”

It paid to invest a bit more in the room category as this earned us one of the few rooms with full sea view (the other rooms are to the side but also have sea view to either left or right side). Breakfast was very acceptable and the location in the middle of activities, but still very quiet. The beach directly outside the hotel (with a road in between) was quite crowded but the speed boat trip to the near islands recommended by the concierge was gorgeous, white sandy beaches and good food. Don't miss the sea walk in a sort of astronaut's helmet at about seven meters below sea level!

Area recommendations

Area was perfect for our intentions but if you are more looking for the wild side of life you should go a mile south to near Walking Street!

Events and shows

We visited Tiffany's and Alcazar (both recommended and tickets obtained from the concierge) and found both very entertaining, Tiffany's was number 1 !
