“South Pattaya Nova Platinum”

The complex itself has recently under gone considerable reconstruction on a brand new wing. Unfortunately I didn't stay in the new wing. The room general condition was quite poor, for example my shower didn't work properly, you could turn it on but not off. This was reported many times and at one point my shower was on for 14 hours. To resolve this the water supply was turned off to all appliences, so for a considerable time I didn't have any water at all. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and extremly helpful, the locality is ideal and perfectly situated. This is a very international hotel with many foriegn visitors who's manners and cultural behaviour was at times just plain rude. Based on the price though this hotel should still be considered, it's very competitivley priced and I do believe you get your monies worth. The shower issue was a one off incident and as long as the pricing stays the same I will not hesitate to stay there again.

Getting there

getting there get a meter taxi from the airport. I wouldn't recommend the bus or limosine services

The Hotel staff was great, the food service was outstanding and the latte coffee was really good at the restaurant. Really my 10 days at the Hotel were outstanding. Security was really good too, the security staff was very friendly. I am returning soon and will be staying at the same Hotel again. I wish the hallways were cooled, because it is a little warm. I have nothing bad to report.

“decent hotel, but surrounded by noisy construction”

I stayed at the Nova Platinum once before in 2008. At that time my hotel stay was good. This second time, there is considerable construction going on at the hotel, and it is quite noisy there. The rooms are adequate, but my one complaint about my room was that the air-conditioner would not cool the room enough.

“Disappointment, you get what you pay for, a nice looking hotel with a bunch of problems”

Stayed 1 night in 6th floor in the "new building". Everything seemed fine on checkin, hotel is pretty new, has a very nice pool area, room is new looking and our non-smoking room smelled smoke-free. Only trouble is location is pretty tough to find, our taxi driver from Bangkok did not know where it was and the map from the hotel website was not too helpful. Luckily as we were stopped at the side of the road trying to figure it out, one of those motorcyle touts looking for taxis for return trips to Bangkok stopped and led us to the hotel. After coming back late in the evening, the trouble started. First our room key did not work again and had to get it reprogrammed for the SECOND time. Second, the one elevator is malfunctioning and cannot close the door for like 5 tries every floor. Finally, the hotel or at least our room has SERIOUS water pressure problems. The shower only trickled out a little water, the sink is OK though. Asked the staff and they claim the entire hotel is out of water and refuse to move us. I think they just don't want to deal with the problem.. Not to mention there were a bunch of sex tourists waiting in the lobby and taking turns going up to their room one-by-one. Wireles internet did not work in the room, had to go to the lobby. So overall, price is good, but you get what you pay for, a nice looking hotel with a bunch of problems.

“November 09”

“Nice trip at Nova platinum”

It's a nice trip. Me and my family very happy at the hotel. I like the big mirror in my room so much. The hotel nearby the working street we can walk to.

“Good Hotel, recommended”

This is my third stay in this hotel, and I can recommend it as a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel, in a good location for Pattaya's varied attractions. The rooms are clean and modern, if a little small, with a very contemporary design. The bathroom is quite small, but the walk in shower is a good size, although the water pressure isn't great. Rooms have free wifi, LCD TV's and a safe. The hotel has a really nice pool area, complete with swim up bar, as well as a small gym. I've never eaten in the restaurant, so can't comment on it. Ask for a room in the new building, which are generally quieter than the main block. There is building work going on at present (Oct 2009), but the noise is not noticeable from the rooms.

Traveller's tip

Baht buses run right outside the hotel, and it's only 10 minutes walk to Walking Street.
